So what has race got to do with religion exactly? A muslim can be someone from any race. A christian can be someone from any race.

My point is that there are people who will use the "racist card" whenever a person criticises islam. There is a huge difference between being anti race than there is to be anti muslim or anti [insert religion here].

What's you say?

@OP - there is this novel idea that words can be used to signify more than one thing....

RACE noun:

2
a: a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock

b: a class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits, or characteristics

Merriam Webster unabridged 2012

For one thing, only a moron thinks that race and religion are connected.

Agreed, but just from these boards we see many are unable to seperate Arab from Muslim, let alone extremist from moderate.

BDSM in Aus for those poor, newly arrived crims from London, a few centuries ago. Times were harsh back then, PS. We should recognise our collective British guilt, rather than laugh.

It's not a card; it's the definition of the word. Or do you have an objection to using English?

Maybe this needs to be moved to Off Topic Discussion.

How can anyone respect the word "troll" when people misuse the meaning most of the time? You are basically calling someone a troll because you don't like their opinions.

Such as I also find it hard to take the words "racism" and "misogyny" seriously these days as it's so blithely misused by PC bandits.

You are yet to define what connection race has with religion

Islamophobia denotes prejudice against, or hatred or irrational fear of, Muslims.

Christianophobia denotes prejudice against, or hatred or irrational fear of, christians.

The difference between the both is that hardly anyone is dying or getting seriously injured when it comes to islamophobia while people are dropping dead like flies when it comes to christianophobia.

Here's an example

http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/02/05/ayaan-hirsi-ali-the-global-war-on-christians-in-the-muslim-world.html

Yet people in the western politically correct world seem more concerned towards islamophobia compared to christianophobia.

I myself have no shame in being anti muslim. In fact, I'm anti ALL religions. But I focus a lot on islam around the world because at this modern age they seem to be doing more terrible things than all other religions put together.

I REPEAT FOR THE OPS EDIFICATION.

There was no mention of Muslims being upset in the article.

In other words, dude all you are doing is trying to stir up an argument, go away.

Neither correct nor useful. Religion is of neccessity, a 'shared interest', and a characteristic.

The definition has been made clear, and cited.

Your attempt to fabricate a fallacious definition and use sophomorisms to get other people to be foolish enough to fall for it, has failed.

As in the past, today's religions arent doing squat. Much is being done in the name of those religions and those following them are just as blind as they were in yesteryears.

n the 1990s, the Bosnian Genocide and Kosovo War, both of which involved the "mass murder of innocent Muslims," have been linked to Islamophobia.[6] In Bosnia, Christian Serb and Croat militias carried out genocidal attacks on the Muslim Bosniak community. According to the ICRC data on the Bosnian Genocide, "200,000 people were killed, 12,000 of them children, up to 50,000 women were raped, and 2.2 million were forced to flee their homes."[7] Many attacks on religious buildings and symbols took place in towns such as Foča, where all of the town's mosques were destroyed. On 22 April 1992, Serbs blew up the Aladža Mosque and eight more mosques dating from the 16th and 17th centuries were damaged or completely destroyed. On January 1994, the Serb authorities renamed Foča “Srbinje” (Serbian: Србиње), literally meaning "place of the Serbs" (from Srbi Serbs and -nje which is a Slavic locative suffix).[8]

Bulgaria
In 1989, 310,000 Turks left Bulgaria, many under pressure as a result of the communist Zhivkov regime's assimilation campaign (though up to a third returned before the end of the year). That program, which began in 1984, forced all Turks and other Muslims in Bulgaria to adopt Bulgarian names and renounce all Muslim customs. The motivation of the 1984 assimilation campaign is unclear; however, some experts believe that the disproportion between the birth rates of the Turks and the Bulgarians was a major factor.[9] During the name-changing phase of the campaign, Turkish towns and villages were surrounded by army units. Citizens were issued new identity cards with Bulgarian names. Failure to present a new card meant forfeiture of salary, pension payments, and bank withdrawals. Birth or marriage certificates would be issued only in Bulgarian names. Traditional Turkish costumes were banned; homes were searched and all signs of Turkish identity removed. Mosques were closed. According to estimates, 500 to 1,500 people were killed when they resisted assimilation measures, and thousands of others were imprisoned or sent to labor camps or were forcibly resettled.[10]
