TheWriter13 -> What online has left you dumbfounded and laughing? (12/2/2012 4:18:46 AM)

A week or two ago I came across a question on yahoo he asked "How do I tell my parents I like watching my little pony?" I started bursting out laughing he's like in high school and watches My Little Pony and he talked about trying to get his parents into the show I mean what the fuck? I mean unless you want to commit social suicide you don't tell people you watch a kiddie show.

Yep, tie a rake on the back of a motorcycle then go looking for wires and det cord connected to bombs.

Here's the rest of the news story.

BDSM chatrooms on bondage.com that assumed all females were sub, and required subs to 'beg entry' even though they had obviously already entered the danged chat room.

These places always had protocol rules up the wazoo.

Since I DJed in a couple of these rooms over the years, I always demanded (and got) special dispensation not to have to follow their rules.

I did think it was very funny, not so much that some idiot created a chat room with idiot rules, but that there were people who followed them.

The nutcases that create their own worlds, and then require everyone who enters to follow them. This holds for D/s chats, political nuts, etc. Works to create a cluster of strongly opinionated people that refuse to acknowledge reality.

Why not? I tell people I like Disney cartoons and some "kiddie" cartoons and I'm 40 years old. Hell, Master watches them with me! It's fun! I like being able to feel like a kid from time to time. What's the big deal?

I would have said to just tell them. What's the problem? I bet your parents watch cartoons too.

As for something funny I've found online.....pretty much everything.

I'm not sure it's little pony or teletubbies, but there's actually a convention where adults (mostly men) go to (this trade show or something) that love this show.

I like watching Dora the Explorer with my niece. I still enjoy watching Looney Tunes. My daughter has a FB of little ponies. I am not worried about her.

I miss watching Saturday morning cartoons. What happened to them????

If they were still on, you'd catch me watching them still.

You have no idea then just how many people still watch Looney Tunes and stuff like Magic Roundabout.

But then again I don't give a monkey's chuff about 'social suicide' or living my life on the basis of what other people are going to think of me.

In answer to the title question, half the responses I get on the other side of Collarme.

That being said, I wouldn't be weirded out by a guy into My Little Pony ( I once knew positively brilliant woman who was obsessed with the things ), unless he wanted me to HIS My Little Pony. [:D]

In my totally unbiased opinion <coff coff> *my* generation has the best cartoons:

Wile E. Coyote and the lovely Road Runner, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, Top Cat, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Deputy Dawg, Huckleberry Hound, The Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, The Jetsons, Mr Magoo, Heckle and Jeckle, Yogi Bear (I'm sure I've missed some)-- all these are classics and I personally love watching re-runs.

They don't make TV like that anymore, to say nothing of cartoons.

Hillwilliam -> RE: What online has left you dumbfounded and laughing? (12/3/2012 10:25:51 AM)

I have an 8 DVD set of Loony Tunes.

I totally agree with you ChatteParfaitt - while there are edgy cartoons such as "Family Guy" and such, those cartoons are created for adults. Looney Toons and Bullwinkle (who could ever forget Whattsamatta U?) were designed for children. One of my favorites were the "Fractured Fairy Tales" segment in the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. I always had a little thing for Snidely Whiplash - hmmmm....I wonder if that's why I like WIITWD.
