Another must for the holidays is The Christmas Song written by Mel Torme and Bob Wells. It was written during a blistering hot day in the San Fernando Valley. As Torme told the story Wells was writing stuff on a notepad by his piano just trying to think cool thoughts during the heat. Torme said he thought it could be a song so he wrote the music and some of the lyrics. In an interview Torme said; Then I did one of the smartest things I have ever done in my life.
