ive tried many times to close my account but it still remains active, does anyone know how to actually close it so its gone permanently?

Close it, hide, delete & stop going back to it!! When the admins get around to cleaning the server it will be removed for good

I believe you have seven days to change your mind. If you can resist logging in for seven days, on the eighth it should be gone.
