Ally doesn't have a physical building. The entire bank is online only.

You want better customer service? Get a bank with a physical building you can go to.

It's one of the large reasons I don't use Ally.

What ever happened to hiring AMERICANS to do these jobs. You can't tell me that some welfare mother could do that same job and get her off the public dole

This will happen when these large companies stop hiring people offshore simply because it is cheaper.

Bingo. And here's my mini Walmart soapbox - their prices are so low because they demand their suppliers to sell at a certain low cost. Suppliers can't do that while manufacturing in America, so they manufacture offshore. Because it's cheaper. Because if they don't, they're out of business. That almost happened to Rubbermaid.

And we (generic we) keep shopping there because we like the lower prices.

And it's not just Walmart - they're just my example - it's everywhere. It's cheaper for companies to hire manufacturing, customer service, various IT functions, etc., offshore. Otherwise we're spending more as customers, and we don't want that, either. Vicious circle.

And I agree with Athena - was kind of shocked to see a bad customer service thread pointing to attacking those on welfare.

Manufacturers can also say no.

I was approached by WalMart 16 months ago to sell one of my products in their stores "but we have to get a 65% discount on the product and always have the lowest retail price anywhere". I informed that that the highest level we offer retailers was a 40% discount, you had to purchase $125,000.00 worth of product to achieve that level of discount and if we discovered that they deviated from our MSRP by more than 5%, they would not be allowed to retail our product or order a second time.

They said that wasn't a good enough discount and that they couldn't agree to my pricing policies.

So....they don't get to buy my product.

"No" is still in the dictionary. (It's in the "N" section).

The Ally bank headquarters is located at 6985 Union Park Center, Midvale, Utah.

Yes, that's the headquarters but they do not have physical banks that you can go to in person to deposit your checks or talk to someone about loans, etc...Instead you have to talk to someone on a phone line or through email.

I personally like to talk to people face to face. It solves the problem faster and easier.

How.. unAmerican of you Lookie! Ya know.. you could have just raised your "retail price" so ya could give em a 65% discount (so it would still be the same actual price but hits their % off buttons).. [:D]

good point, LW. it's kinda silly to expect the same kind of warm and fuzzy service with an online bank than with one of the local branches. real-time makes a difference.

I kinda like the price I'm selling at....and so does the general public.

Letter friend recently got the moms medication wouldn't be paid for, but hospice care would be. Kind of anti-euthenasia when it comes to parents. I mean if we are keeping the criminals & pedophiles alive why is euthing old people ok?

If you answered me when I asked on another thread if the subject line for this letter began "Fwd: Fwd: Fwd: Fwd:" I didn't catch your response.

How old is your friend's mom? My mom has never mentioned to me that Medicare wouldn't pay for a medication. She didn't get the hospice letter either.

Maybe it's different now, somehow? It was years ago when I read articles of manufacturers going out of business for not selling to Walmart. Basically, if you don't sell at Walmart you're either going to hurt big time or go under. I know it almost took Rubbermaid off the map.

Glad to see you didn't cave to them though, that's awesome.

OP, are you eligible for a credit union? They can be pretty cool.

I know, or you wouldnt have turned them down.. [:)] If its a product that has a following or loyalty, they will just find out where it is sold and buy it there.. I have done that myself & tracked down products cuz the benefits of them were superior to their competitors so worth more to me..

Muttling -> RE: WHY Should I expect diffrent? (12/7/2012 5:43:21 PM)

Ironically, this little rant about outsourcing has totally ignored the issue which the OP seems to be ignoring.

You have a co-signer on your loan. You AND the co-signer are equally responsible for the loan regardless of who has been making the payments. The ONLY way to change this is to refinance the loan (e.g. take out a new loan in your name only to pay this one off) or to pay the loan off.

This is a very basic and very common loan question, there's no reason why it can't or shouldn't be answered from a script.

kalikshama -> RE: WHY Should I expect diffrent? (12/7/2012 6:18:24 PM)

Good point.

OP - what did the rep's script say?
