Howdy: Is everyone experiencing the annoying pop-up ads INSIDE other members' profiles?

From 'Home', the picture of a match comes up as usual, but his written profile/journal is completely and irrevocably obscured within a couple of seconds. At least it's not the misogynist sidebar ads -- yet!
SIGH, I suppose I'll have to use Opera or [shudder] google-chrome.

Any other fixes, folks?

Send an email to VideoAdminAlpha. She'll shut the profile down.

Jeez, I can't remember the last time I opened a profile.  Guess I won't be in any more of a hurry to until Alpha fixes it...LOL

Thanks, although it's not when I open a profile; as above, it's just when you view CO from 'Home', and the ads invade!

Well uh letsee here, lemme think about this ...Oh DUH that is how they support this "free site". The fix as you call it would be not to log in here.

They have expenses just like any other business. I imagine they even turn a profit as they don't charge the members <us> a fee.

SailingBum - it's not a CollarMe ad... it's a script someone embeds into their profile, so when you open the collarme page, if one of those profiles is there, it causes the browser to freeze due to the script trying to open a page.

I haven't had the issue since using Chrome. I was having it with Firefox.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that my profile does not include any pop-up ads.

And should there be any confusion about the photos, I'm not the cat.

I can only go by what the OP stated as the issue. The OP did not mention screen freeze. So I suspect you are referring to some other issue. shrug I would think the OP knows the difference between a pop up and screen freeze

I've never had the problem. Even with the popup everyone was complaining about before...I had only seen it twice before I blocked it with my popup blocker. Took me all of 10 seconds to add.

Thanks to all who recommended a different ad blocker; hurrah for Tucows!
It's soooo peaceful; like Gallagher-ing a noisy neighbour's boombox with a sledgehammer, but visual silence.

Google Chrome's extension called Adblock Plus works great!
