I actually saw a clip of this exchange on Lawrence O'Donnell the other night:

Mean as Coulter can be, and however much I dislike most of what the woman has to say about politics, she is right on a lot of things.

Not only did she predict that Romney would lose the election months before the primaries, she now says it would be right thing to do for Republicans in Congress to cave on tax rates for the wealthy.

Great, she figured out what needs to be done for all the wrong reasons.

She's right. The GOP has been intent on committing suicide for years, and is continuing that. The political realities are:

1. The GOP's strategy has been obstructionism since Obama was elected. The public perception of them as The Party of No has sunk in.
2. Obama's claim is that his reelection is a mandate to raise taxes on the rich. My take is that public sentiment is indeed behind him.
3. The public believes that the GOP is more to blame for a possible stalemate/cliff dive than Obama.

The GOP needs to learn how to negotiate, past just a simple binary of saying no, or caving. They've been talking for years about how the wealthy are "job creators" and have stubbornly stuck to that despite Democratic PR (and reality) to the contrary. If they negotiated different tax rates for those people who start up and grow businesses (i.e., REAL job creators) and those who simply live off trust funds and those who have stockbroker/high level management/MD jobs, they could state that they have the economy's best interests at heart and are continuing their policy of rewarding job creators.

The most hilarious thing in the video; Hannity saying that "We don't have a revenue problem, Ann."

I'm having a hard time getting up off the floor on that one.

In Hannity's mind, its all a spending problem.

Two wars on the credit card and a Medicare prescription drug plan that wasn't paid for.

Yeah, it is a spending problem.

The trouble is, the right is going after the wrong things to repay the loans for the things they've already spent the money on.

When is the last this country didn't ask tax payers to bite the bullet and pay higher taxes in time of war?
