I am new to the BDSM community and was wondering if anybody would mind recommending some of their favourite blogs pertaining to the lifestyle. I am very interested in reading chronicles of the day to day life (including vanilla) and learning about kinks that may currently be unfamiliar to me.

I do lurk the forums often since I have joined, but I would really enjoy reading about others and why they enjoy D/s interactions/relationships, get some insight on how it relates to me, and maybe some do's and don'ts (health and safety) when it comes to trying new things.

Many thanks in advance!

I know you ask for blogs of personal experience instead of just discussions or guides. However, there is a book I recall having many interviews that were laced with several personal stories that may interest you.

Different Loving : The World of Sexual Dominance and Submission
by
Gloria G. Brame, Jon Jacobs, Will Brame
They begin by asking "What is normal ?" and note that if "normal" means reproductive relevance as in the Victorian standard, then few are normal. What is clear is that what is painful for some is pleasurable for others, what is unacceptable for some is delightful for others, what is frightening for some is a natural high for others.

As for other reading, like GreedyTop mentioned, the BDSM Books link in my sig has a pretty good list.

I got started with 'Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns: The Romance and Sexual Sorcery of Sadomasochism' by Phillip Miller and Molly Devon. I outgrew it fast but it's a great beginner guide. Thisgirl's blog has inspired me for a long time: http://thisgirl.wordpress.com/posts/
