PoeticSoul1 -> Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 2:28:13 PM)

Cause the way this seems to work can't possibly be right... What I'm seeing is that they just take money to even be contacted and there's no even promise of anything in some cases. Can it really work like that? I just am having trouble understanding it. I understand pros. But generally (not all the time!) Dommes demanding tribute on their profiles just seem spoiled and like they aren't actually getting any gratification from it like tey should from a kink. I just get a sense that they're just using kink to get a free ride. This idea isn't helped when I see on these people's profiles things like demands for any random submissive to come out and clean their car for example. Am I way off base? I don't mean to offend, I have seen Pro-Dommes and FinDom's that I believed it was an actual kink to them. Are there types that you would classify as not being real? How does it work and how can people tell the people that have a real kink for it vs free ride people? Or am I just way off base? And sorry if this comes up all the time. I tried to vary it slightly.

No.

There are already at least 5 threads currently running (i.e. on the first page) in different sections of the boards about this topic. Quit being lazy and go read them. If you're incapable of finding them, use the Search feature.

PoeticSoul1 -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 2:52:20 PM)

They're about different things, thank you. I'm not contending the differences between this or prostitution or any number of variants. I'm curious to hear from an actual FinDom to explain how the process works and if there are differences in styles. If you aren't going to be helpful why waste your time responding?

OsideGirl -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 2:56:24 PM)

She's correct, there are a ton of other threads covering every aspect. It's already been beaten to death.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 2:56:38 PM)

Lazy and illiterate...awesome.

Use. The. Search. Feature. (I typed slower, did it help?)

This topic comes up twelve times a week. RochSub started an excellent thread in General that had great information in it, including, IIRC, opinions from Financial Dominants. Go read it.

[:D][:D][:D]

This is starting out well.

PoeticSoul1 -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 2:58:54 PM)

Maybe I explained my thoughts in the beginning. They're a bit of a jumble and I didn't mean for it to come off like I'm accusing anyone of anything or recycling. What I'm trying to ask is if FinDoms feel like its normally accepted to do these things like asking for tribute upfront with no promises or asking for someone to clean their car. If they feel there are different levels, and how they determine those levels and how the process works for them. Hopefully that's clearer

Because apparently this didn't sink in the first time. Third time's a charm? We can hope, right?

PoeticSoul1 -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:09:07 PM)

I've looked for such a thread but no luck. I have searched. I'm not seeing any topic started by Roch about it. I'm trying my best here. I reviewed the conversations I could find before asking my question. I searched twice after you bitched at me. Its not nessecary. I was simply asking a question that I hadn't seen what I was looking for. There's no reason to get snippy. I'm aware this conversation comes up in different variants a lot and you're tired of it but thats no excuse to take it out on a newbie that's still trying to get the hang of things and do things right.

FFS...

The FinDomme thread currently running AT THE FUCKING TOP of Page 1 in General BDSM has information, including opinions from actual, practicing financial dommes, about the topic. How much lazier can you be? Seriously. But since you can't manage to figure out how to use a keyword search here's the thread I was talking about: http://www.collarchat.com/m_4224292/mpage_1/key_financial%252Cdomination/tm.htm#4224292

Toysinbabeland -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:14:47 PM)

They are simply creative writers in a lucrative business with no overhead. Nothing more.

FR

It took me less than a minute to find the link. if you had searched "financial" by author "roch%" it would have come up.

Excuse me.
I'd like to butt in here for a moment, TIB. Some of us do actually meet with our subs and slaves, and yes, we even scene with them. I am a findomme, and I don't appreciate the generalization, there. :)

PoeticSoul1 -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:17:24 PM)

For some reason it's not in my list of topics. Thank you for the link, I'll be sure to look at it.

Lockit -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:18:05 PM)

Is your dominant sending you out to learn how to do this or are you feeling it all out in hopes of learning your style?

Some of them do it in person (thus not creative writing).

There are "rinsers" who want money/gifts with no expectation of ANYTHING reciprocal (not even an acknowledgement of the gift/tribute)

There are fin-doms that manage the finances of the sub, giving them an allowance, keeping a tribute for themselves, and making sure that the rent and utilities get paid, etc.

Fin-dom comes in a multitude of forms, but it always involves money.

Money is power. When a sub gives over control of their money to their dom, that is form of power exchange.

You don't have to like it and you don't have to participate.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:19:54 PM)

I'm starting to wonder if we should have a never-ending sticky thread somewhere that deals with this topic alone. Then we could at least point to it so this sort of idiocy happens marginally less often. [8|]

coldslayer -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:20:36 PM)

*sings* money money money monay monayyyyyyyyy!

PoeticSoul1 -> RE: Can someone explain Financial Domination to me? (12/9/2012 3:21:50 PM)

Thank you this link seems to be what I was looking for. I don't know why it wasn't working on mine, I'll get that checked.

Syl,

Few people actually read the stickies. Otherwise we wouldn't have so many TOS violations [;)]
