I know who I am.

Even when you know who you are, people will challenge you. Calm, peace, patience in the storm is all you need. Keep your focus.

Isn't that special.

Maybe the OP should be expanded so that the readers can understand what it has to do with bondage, discipline, sadism, or masochism?

Agreed. Proceed.

It is your thread.
Perhaps you should be the one to expound... .

littlewonder -> RE: I am who I am. (12/12/2012 6:10:07 PM)

eerr...huh? Was there a question in there? Or am I just finally losing it?

So you know yourself. You're an adult. I would hope so.

No, it's not you.

DarkSteven -> RE: I am who I am. (12/12/2012 6:44:15 PM)

I know who I am as well. I always carry ID.

TwoHeartsBeatOne -> RE: I am who I am. (12/12/2012 7:03:25 PM)

OP - I don't always know who I am. There have been times when I was way ahead of myself, conflicted and/or just plain "wrong."

DarkSteven - maybe the next time I lose myself, I could borrow your ID so that I, too, may know who I am. (Bazinga)

NuevaVida -> RE: I am who I am. (12/12/2012 8:49:08 PM)

Well I actually totally relate to this. I don't care if there's a question or not. The more I got to know myself, the more I was challenged for being myself. It was really strange to me. People didn't like it, and would not only challenge, but ridicule, criticize, and downright insult me over it.

Didn't change much, other than I don't spend a lot of time with them, if any.

Me either lol.

needlesandpins -> RE: I am who I am. (12/13/2012 9:29:26 AM)

it took me along time to finally have the chance to even think about who/what i am. i've had to fight damn hard to be this person, and i'm very set about it. however, there is always someone who thinks they know me better than i know myself.

same old shit; you're only saying that, but you're not being true to yourself..blah blah blah

i have learnt that i don't always react the way i thought i may in given situations, but otherwise i know what i want, what i am, and what i don't want.

KyttynTheMynx -> RE: I am who I am. (12/13/2012 9:36:16 AM)

Motherfuck, can I ever relate to this. I thought I knew who I was. A friend "challenged" me to figure out who I am, and to go find myself, as she thought it would "better my life".

I felt so lost, and confused after that. I thought I knew who I was. I thought I knew what I wanted. Being told I should go figure things out because, "I was doing it wrong" did nothing more than turn me on my ear. Never again.

UnholyBear -> RE: I am who I am. (12/13/2012 10:45:45 AM)

I am who I need to be at this time.

Me as well. Unfortunately most of them are family. It's been painful at times.

To turn an old saying sideways...

Identity untested is no identity at all
