Well, if they had prior careers as QCs (I'm not sure how the American system appoints judges, but I'd imagine they come from a legal background of some sort), then they'll have done a humanity BA for their pre law, not a BSc, won't they?
(Still no excuse for spouting that sort of drivel, mind. I'm a bloody arts grad myself and even I know that's utter nonsense...)

Okay, might I suggest that before a person can assume the appointment to the bench, he or she has to take a few course such as human reproduction, human physiological response and last but not least, how to not make statements that makes you look like an incompetent idiot.

Law school entrance is predicated on LSAT scores.
Interestingly enough the five most common majors of students entering law school were political science, history, English, psychology, and criminal justice.[2] The five majors with the highest acceptance rates were physics, philosophy, biology, chemistry, and government service.

And judges are *usually* appointed or elected from some sort of legal background, but again, it isn't always mandated.

Sadly, this sort of ignorance from those in positions of power is a universal condition, no matter what pieces ofpaper are needed to get the job..
