The shooter has been identified... apparently his mother was a teacher there... she was one of the victims.

I didn't see this thread here (I never come to P&R) when I created one in Off Topics. This is just horrific. I don't even have kids and I'm crying my eyes out. Gunman, Ryan Lanza, shot up the class where his mother taught. 18 dead kids. Kindergarteners. Infuckingcredible. Fucking horrific.

Someone was killed at the home. Seems from what I can find the mother was shot at the school.

Yes, mother was a teacher at the school, and it was her classroom that was shot up, mostly. I heard about father being shot at the home and then a recant of that. I'm sure they're still putting all the pieces together. ETA: Ok, they originally reported father was killed in NJ and that's what was recanted. They're saying a relative was shot at the home. Now I just heard his brother was taken into custody.

No, I meant what I said. Anger at his family rather than a custody battle over a child. The brother was found dead in the home.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! There are no words that can truly convey the outrage, the horror or the sadness that I feel right now. I do have some words for some of you (and you know who you are): Please, PLEASE, for decency's sake, can you wait a least a day (just one fucking day) before you start all of the pro gun/anti gun, "he's a democrat"/"he's a republican," "this is (fill in the blank)'s fault," finger pointing bullshit?? PLEASE!

According to CNN, it was a brother that was found in the home dead. The mother/teacher of the class was shot at the school. Police are responding to reporters now. Dear God. Twenty children and six adults killed, plus the shooter.

This will suck big time for 20 sets of parents. Kids running around in recent days all excited about Santa Clause and now parents having to sit through Christmas Eve and the holidays. Even parents of survivors will have shity holidays. I just can't imagine this. It's the sickest most heinous crime in a long while. Literally gut wrenching. What provokes this kind of weirdness ?

I am past the edit window time frame. CNN is now reporting that the body of the mother may be at home. They have the neighborhood blocked off. I do apologize for the misinformation. I'm sure that even the reporters are getting things wrong in the midst of all of the confusion that must be going on right now.

Information always gets skewy in a crime like this. If it was the mother's classroom, then it would be a logical conclusion that it was her who was shot in it, and if the shooter possibly had someone else's ID on him, it would be a logical conclusion to think it was the person on the ID. It will all unfold over time.
