That is not the solution but may in fact be the "actual" problem. Too much diagnosing and dispensing toxic and deadly medications altering the natural chemistry of the brain.

Assuming those most in need of this kind of help are capable both of recognising and acting upon that fact then sure, that would help. Its been my experience that mental health issues are usually not recognisable by the sufferer.

Are these mass killers on medications? If not, how long has it been since they haven't been on any? How long does these toxic medications stay in the system? Are they researched in regard to the toxic and deadly side effects? Have you given your children Ritalin? Have you even taken it yourself? Are you aware of the side effects? Are side effects not important? The last thing we should be doing as an society is diagnoses and dispensing medication without being fully aware of the dangers of that. Before the US became a medicated society there were no mass shootings like we see now. It was unheard of and to deny this fact will be doing the children in this country a great disservice as adults who are suppose to protect and care for children.

Here are some side effects of Ritalin. Do the research for yourself. Make informed decisions before you medicate. Be FULLY aware of what you are doing!

In 1986, The International Journal of the Addictions published a most important literature review by Richard Scarnati. It was called “An Outline of Hazardous Side Effects of Ritalin (Methylphenidate)” [v.21(7), pp. 837-841].

Scarnati listed a large number of adverse affects of Ritalin and cited published journal articles which reported each of these symptoms.

For every one of the following (selected and quoted verbatim) Ritalin effects, there is at least one confirming source in the medical literature:

Paranoid delusions
Paranoid psychosis
Hypomanic and manic symptoms, amphetamine-like psychosis
Activation of psychotic symptoms
Toxic psychosis
Visual hallucinations
Auditory hallucinations
Can surpass LSD in producing bizarre experiences
Effects pathological thought processes
Extreme withdrawal
Terrified affect
Started screaming
Aggressiveness
Insomnia
Since Ritalin is considered an amphetamine-type drug, expect amphetamine-like effects
Psychic dependence
High-abuse potential DEA Schedule II Drug
Decreased REM sleep
When used with antidepressants one may see dangerous reactions including hypertension, seizures and hypothermia
Convulsions
Brain damage may be seen with amphetamine abuse.

Surely there is an assumption here that mass killers have mental health problems or are insane, which is always problematic assumption because there is no meaningful definition of mental health or sanity to compare mental conditions or insanity against, which is why in most countries for all except extreme circumstances, people have to volunteer themselves for mental health treatment. So called sane people are some of the most violent people around. it's just comforting to label perpetrators of mass killings or just killers, as mentally ill.
