Depression and fear have kept me running without looking back. It has diverted my focus and drained my energy keeping me from doing the things I enjoy. I've tried to keep it out of my head for so long that that the methods I used to forget became my way of life. I constantly sought some form of distraction to keep my mind elsewhere. Always moving, never stopping until I burnt out then did it all again. One thing that has been helping me pull myself out of that state of mind is music. So out of curiousity I wanted to ask; what type of music moves you. Maybe not your favorite type of music, or favorite grouo or artist, but that one song or style that insipres you or touches you deeply

https://www.centerpointe.com/ This has had amazing results for me, and others I know. I had a brain injury and depression is a part of the healing process. Also, I had gone from straight A student to being unable to read or write. This helped me get my brain back AND feel more ... serene. I still feel everything people feel, it's just that underneath it all, now there is a foundation of peace. Best of luck to you in this holiday season. :)

So I checked out the link and it looks interesting. How long have you been using this product and what specific benefits did it have for you?

On you tube, search term "binaural beats." There are some free downloads there. Just keep in mind... it only works with headphones because each ear is being sent a different "signal." The brain seeks to reconcile the two and in doing so, creates new neuro-pathways. The result is more whole-brained perception and thinking. That means more ideas and more solutions. :) That means, less reasons to be stressed, and/or, depressed.

edited to add this clarification - binaural beats' signals are not the same as subliminal messages.

Happy Holidays to All :)

There's a free demo available on the Centerpointe site. Okay, I've used Awakening Prologue for about 5 years. That's "the deep," a half hour per day, every single day, for 30 days. On the 31st day, I continued that, but extended it to an hour per day, by adding, "immersion," every single day for 6 months.
There are additional "levels," which I never needed to go on to buy or use. Perhaps I could gain even more, but they are a bit price-y for me, personally.

The time commitment was a bit much for me. As the "beats" are creating new pathways in the brain (which is why it only works listening through headphones), it is imperative that not a day be missed. However, once I had completed the first 7 months, without missing a day - I found I was able to skip with no backsliding or loss of what was gained. Over the years, I have let months go by and not do it. My brain already has the new pathways. So, now, I use it when I feel like it.

One more thing about using it. It put me to sleep a lot at first, so I got ear phones that were safe to fall asleep wearing. That way, the hour was being done and not taking up waking hours. The site says not to do that - rather, stay awake. It worked for me anyway.

Another thing. It takes a while to read the info on the site, but it's worth reading.

Benefits.

Inner calm. Serenity. Awareness of inner strength, hope, optimism. A general feeling of being equal to my tasks. Far less reactive to other people's upsets. Not less caring at all... I mean, it's as if an invisible filter let's the information in without letting another person's emotional "energy field" taint your own harmonic energy.

It's difficult to describe, really. Human brains are unique. People report improved inner lives, better ability to learn, solve problems and create. I remember reading that part of the site information before I bought it and used it. Vague, it seemed. It's money-back trial, so I gave it a try. So glad I did. :) Now, I, too can say like the others there... it gave me adjustments where I needed them.

More quantifiable results... my partial, permanent brain injury no longer kept me from reading, writing, thinking, speaking, learning or understanding. I was able to not only heal, but go on to earn a Bachelor's degree. The crying jags stopped - completely, before the first month was completed. Energy level increased. The need for sleep was decreased to 5 hrs. with no loss of function, reactive speed or agility. Mental focus strengthens. Creativity abounds. I could go on...

Just a tip... there are all sorts of soundtracks laid on top of binaural beats. If you dislike the "song" then keep searching. The ones I use - Holosync, uses ocean waves, rain, Tibetan prayer chimes - and I like those things. Variety exists.

As for just music... I make myself playlists of uplifting songs. Here's one song that "speaks" to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tms-ayMYzb8

I suffer from chronic depression so when I am feeling worse than usual, I try to listen to more upbeat music, the type of music that talks about bettering yourself, helping others, being there for others, motivational type music. If I listen to downer and sad music, my depression gets even worse. So some of my favorites are usually Rob Thomas and One Republic. Both of them have a lot of motivational type songs that really pull me out.
