Name a law on the books as far as you know that is kinda odd.

Example, when I lived in Wichita, Kansas, (late 60s), there was still on the books that you had to send a runner ahead of you if you drive an automobile. The runner was to announce to the people that they should grab there horses as a noisy horseless carriage was coming. They did not want folks spooking the horses. Of course, the law was intended for an earlier era, but it was still on the books. I have never heard of it being repealed.

Show your knowledge of odd laws.

ONLY ONE per posting. Wait for someone else to contribute before you post another one.

Yes, I have my next one in mind.

There is an old law that states a man can beat his wife in Little Rock,Arkansas provided he does it with a stick no bigger than 3 inches across and not more than once a month.[sm=crop.gif]

When I lived in Wichita, a couple of folks were arrested for vagrancy. Somebody protested to the news media.
The next few days, everybody downtown visitor wore a one-dollar bill pinned to their outer top. If you have a dollar, you were no a vagrant.
