wrong he is doing nothing wrong or illegal and puting a gun owner in the same class as a sex offender is inulting

read the threads on guns, it is quite clear for many people guns act as a penis extension, a sex toy, an aphrodisiac, a man badge. It is clear guns for many people are a sexual fetish.

that is like saying that everyone who practices any kind of kink should be listed with sex offenders what are you doing on cm?

When kinks harm or are psychologically imposed on other people who want nothing to do with them, like the threat guns carry, they stop being acceptable kinks. I've got nothing against anyones kinks as long as they are THEIR kinks and not made my business. Guns, just like car driving, is everyones business because of the injuries they inflict on innocent victims.

Lanza didn't own a gun. He took his mother's. I believe I read somewhere that he was denied a firearm in the week or two preceding his event (only calling it an event to not further sensationalize it). Personally, I have no problem with background checks being required, though I might take issue with some of the flags in a check that disqualify (don't know what all disqualifies, so I can't say as I do disagree, nor that I don't). Lanza shot hundreds of rounds, using 30 round clips. More than likely, he might have been able to squeeze off 90% of what he did if he used 10 round clips, assuming he carried the necessary # of clips to do so. But, again, I don't have a problem with limiting it to 10 round clips, with the obvious caveat that all's fair during the Zombie Apocalypse.

Banning all guns isn't going to stop people from owning guns illegally. It's only going to stop people from owning guns legally. As the vast majority of gun owners (remember, 1/3 of the US population owns a gun) aren't using them in to kill other humans, you will be limiting a shit ton more law abiding Citizens than not.

And, if someone sneaks up on you and sticks a shiv through your chest, you'll likely die a much slower and more painful death than had you been shot in the chest.

What happened in the US when we made alcohol illegal? Did that stop us from drinking alcohol? Sure as hell didn't. It just made some law abiding Citizens criminals. It stopped some, but those who really wanted to drink, did. Helluva racket for them Italians, too.

No Lanza stole the guns he used but legal gun owners seem to make that very easy for the nutbars.. That doesnt happen so easily where I come from, there arent as many guns and also the culture is different.. And too, I didnt fear someone sneaking up on me with a shiv, again, its a different culture there.. People are actually much more likely to commit suicide by gun than murder there (I think the numbers were 3.7 suicides to 0.7 murders by gun)..

Its actually a nice feeling, to not have to always look at everyone you meet as someone out to kill you, etc..

This is exactly why things that work in one country (or even in one particular State in the USA) won't necessarily work in another. I've made that argument before and got no acceptance of my assertion. But, it's damn true.

you can buy a taser that has 3 jolts, you could have stopped them long enough to get away and call the cops..

I find it amazing that the US tries to get tourists to visit.. if the locals feel so unsafe that they must carry handguns everywhere, why should anyone travel here?

I am guessing it was not that hard for him to steal those guns since he shot her while she was in bed.. she likely didnt even hear anything..

I agree with you that there are different cultures, but you have to have the will to change yours to become a safer country, in addition to changing the laws so the most dangerous guns arent sold to everyone (except the few that are restricted from buying them).. I am not for 100% gun control, I do think that someone in the country and farmers should be able to have a rifle.. I dont agree with handguns and I dont agree with bushmasters and those types of guns..

But that is just my opinion and what you do in your country is up to Americans.. I wont live in Mexico or even visit that country cuz of the violence there and imo, the US is heading that way too...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

We're #10

To take it a step further according to an article in National review 2 weeks ago ( and written by an englishman) when you factor in weapons other that guns U K has 5 times the violent crime rate that week do

Do you really think that you can make 3 solid strikes on 3 opponents from arms length with a taser without dying in the process?

No Lanza stole the guns he used but legal gun owners seem to make that very easy for the nutbars.. That doesnt happen so easily where I come from, there arent as many guns and also the culture is different.. And too, I didnt fear someone sneaking up on me with a shiv, again, its a different culture there.. People are actually much more likely to commit suicide by gun than murder there (I think the numbers were 3.7 suicides to 0.7 murders by gun)..

Its actually a nice feeling, to not have to always look at everyone you meet as someone out to kill you, etc..

A news Article say Lanza Mother was a gun enthusiast, she took Adam with her to various gun activities.

She had 3 guns you could also interpet "gun activities" as trying to teach him safty and respect for what they could do

Even if we are 10th... consider that we are the third largest by population anyway. Hell, that's not bad either way.

thats per capita
