Of course we agree. We make the choice to be here or not. Still doesn't mean that the rules aren't loopy and full of holes, for loopy people to play with.

One would hope that the ones toying with said rules have some degree of common sense and intelligence. That is not always the case. No one has yet said that there is a rule that states we cannot point out that lack there of.

I actually like the idea of putting all the various rules posted by mods over the years into one place.... even if its just a list of links.

Dont judge me because I sin differently than you.
If you want it sugar coated, dont ask me what i think! It would violate TOS.

Does that give some self appointed hall monitor the authority to make up the rules to suit themselves?

No, I would suppose it gives it to the owners and Alpha.

Well, its almost 330 here.... and you are a bit cranky... are you late for your nap?

As I said earlier, if you're cruising down the interstate on a nice sunny traffic free day at 65 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, what do you do if a trooper stops you and writes a ticket saying "I don't care what the limit is, you shouldn't be doing 65 here. I want people to do 50. Your court date is wednesday at 9AM. Have a nice day."?

So you get a warning letter and equate that to a ticket?

I think he's making a point about displays of abused authority rather than a direct analogy.

ACTually...........I would equate a warning letter about vague non existent rules..........to harassment.

Don't act so damn obtuse. You're amazingly intelligent. Don't act like you aren't. It's an analogy. Answer the question if you please.

A person in authority acts in a way that not only oversteps their authority but ignores the existing written statutes. what do you do?

I see it as a written notification to you, personally, that this is against the rules. Im really curious as to how that could upset you.

You wanted notification, they are giving notification before taking any action, yes?

It is NOT against the rules though. N-O-T. What part of NOT is incomprehensible. Acting obtuse doesn't become you.

I therefore see it as either:

A: Ignorance
or
B: Harassment

Do you get upset when people in authority harass you?
Do you get upset when people in authority are ignorant and it affects you negatively?

Okay, it was a direct analogy, then.

And if you agree to a TOS that clearly states its listed rules are not all inclusive... what does that mean to you?

That means to ME, that someone did a bang up job of covering ass so putzes can abuse the powers they've been given.

That means there is room for interpretation. There is a difference between grey areas and totally making shit up claiming it is part of TOS.

Im still waiting for a straight yes/no answer to these questions.

Do you get upset when people in authority harass you?
Do you get upset when people in authority are ignorant and it affects you negatively?

yes or no. It's not complicated.

why don't you just answer his question instead of being evasive? deliberately avoiding what he's saying, and messing about with the context of it is not showing you in good light.

there are rules. we do agree to them as written. we do not agree to have them made up on the spur of the moment to suit the mod in question. nore can they say that an action is one thing to suit themselves when in actual fact it's something else.

deliberately baiting comes to mind.

There is no yes or no here. What you view as harassment/ignorance, in this case, I do not.
