If I had the money to invest, I would have a four-poster bed custom made. Really thick rustic looking beams. I would find someone who was willing to work with me to find lots of cunning ways to 'hide' BDSM uses. I'm thinking carefully concealed eye bolts, extra cross beams over the top for a range of bondage or even suspension positions. I wonder if it would be possible to integrate stocks into the head and footboard in such a way that they would just look like decorative cutouts. The underneath could house a cage which could be hidden by sheets with a valence or even a perfectly fitted store away spanking bench and toybox. It would be a little higher than conventional bedframes to make it an ideal height for bending over (and to make room for the stuff underneath).

But ultimately, something I would have to order from a local supplier and way too expensive for the average kinkster.

One day....

Me too. I have to use a basket now and hide it well. I used to put it under our bed until the day we walked in and my daughter had found it. Thank god she is way to young and accepted that they were not for her to touch and left it at that. Something little children, and my mother could not find and pester me about. Although I still laugh at the look of horror when my mom found a bit of bondage gear left out in our room.

After my selection outgrew a small plastic tote, I found a nice carved wooden box at Hobby Lobby that even came with a small padlock hasp. Granted, that small padlock won't keep a determined person out, but it's perfect to keep kids and "curious" adults out. It's not big enough for my "serious" paddles, and my spreader bars are still leaning against the back wall of my closet, but it actually looks nice enough to keep in plain view in any room.

Going back to the original poster, convertible furniture is a big necessity today. The more inventive the better. I'd love to have a living room full of convertible furniture that looks completely vanilla. The thought of having non-bdsm friends over watching a movie surrounded by dungeon furniture and none the wiser would be golden. I'd have problems keeping a straight face.

I'm actually hoping to get a billiard cue lathe soon (another of my hobbies) for repairing cues, but it's still a lathe and can be used to turn insertables as a previous poster mentioned. And the variety of woods available is staggering. Purpleheart, snakewood, bocote, burls.......art AND function!

A nicely carved wooden paddle would be delicious!

I too have a wood shop and the skills to make some quality toys. In the past I've made a smother box for a friend, a humbler for a local Domme and a serving tray with a handcuff attached (it's hard to find good help, harder to keep it...). I've also made my own four post bed with all kinds of hidden features... For me, the fun of building stuff like that is first coming up with the design and second delivering it to the person who's going to use it. The ideal case would be for Domme and woodworker (A sub by a different name) to design the piece together, then for the woodworker to finish the piece and deliver it. And if the Domme sees the need to test it...

I also have a machine shop, so smaller metal toys or custom hardware is also an option. Problem is all the dominant women reading this thread live 3000 miles away...
