At risk of sounding really dim, which i can be, now what do i do?

First, I paste my jpg deal... say, www.level.jpg, or what have you. Then I select that bit of text, which highlights it, THEN click Image... then submit the post.

The two image tags, one should be in front of your jpg thing, and one behind it. That lets the pic show.

It sounds like a pop up blocker Fae. Is it possible you may have unknowingly downloaded some
new toolbar, like google or the like? Does anything way up on top of the screen look different?

Much to my shame, i need it broke down toddler style. i don't understand the jpg. part.
All i know about jpg's is that is how i save my photo-work, but if i go into my documents or picture files, the pictures just have names.

What Level means is, say you find an image on the internet that you like and wish to post.
Right click on the image and choose Properties. When that box opens, you will see the URL
for the image, which should end in Jpg or Gif. (some won't, so keep an eye out for one that does)
Copy that URL in between the image brackets like this.

This thought has merit. Nothing really looks different, but i think my anti-virus? program recently updated itself. i have McAfee and it gives me a lot of flack about going to CM, even though i've never caught a virus here.

i did have to get a gmail address, or so i thought. i'd go on to youtube and get blocked from "over 18" videos, so i got an account to prove i was over 18, now i can't watch anything i like ... [sm=banghead.gif]

Has it been mentioned i really Fail with all means of computerness ?

I've read many a thread about the issues with McAfee and this site. Sadly, I don't use McAfee, so never paid much
attention to a work around. Next time you get the red x and the clicky noise, look almost to the very top of the page.
There might be an information bar there, which will give you information as to why or what is blocking you from posting normal.
You can also click on Tools way up top, and about half way down the box that opens is the option for Pop Up Blockers.
Copy the URL of this site (both sides if needed), click on Pop Up Settings, and paste it into your allowed list.
Hopefully that will resolve this for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

McAfee work around is to put collarme & collarchat on trusted sites list...after the 4th time you put it back on trusted sites list it stops bitching

This is the awesomeness that i felt would make for a great forum.
my problem wasn't with the site, it was with other software. Software which by my own ignorance got all tangled up like xmas light strings.

And y'all helped me through. Kindly and snark free even though you had to break it down step by baby-step.
i *could* have been sending Cmails to support forever with no avail.

However, i wouldn't have taken the problem to a Mod. They have to deal with so much. But if i'd posted this in a forum meant for such questions and problem, site users could have helped, as they did here. If none of the site users could have helped, then a Mod could have stepped in when they had the time.

BTW [sm=yourock.gif] and you know who you are ...

In the old gamer forums I was a mod at, I started a mod section. We had reports therads, suggestions threads, bug threads etc. All with follow up replies from the mods. Worked like a charm.

The mods already have a private mod forum. At least I presume they do because most forum software comes with that. It lets them track bans, bugs and other troubles so they don't double dip. Often users report the same incident for different reasons and that can mean it goes to two different mods.

i don't have any problem calling attention to the "big stuff" on the otherside.
