I've had this happen once or twice already where the person's name ends up in flat black with no hyperlink to a profile, this means the account is closed or deleted, correct? I've also had one where I can still see the person updating images on mail I've sent them previously but it tells me that their profile is not found when I go to look for it? Is that a bug or does that mean they've hidden the profile?

I know these may be recently asked questions but I'm rather new to the site and just want to know what's what. At least one of the people that dropped off the face of the earth started with no pictures, only sent me one email and then the account was gone. Another had a couple of pictures up, I had passed notes back and forth and she had added a few friends and then her account just goes poof like it was never even there.

Before someone asks the aged question of "Are you sure they didn't just block you?" I've had one person block me so far and it gives a nice bold red message when you try sending a message that says "This User Has Blocked You" and in none of these 3 cases has that occurred. The mail still sends when their name is in black as well and there isn't some sort of mailer daemon bot that pings it back saying "This person no longer has an open account" or something of that nature.

Yes, they have deleted their accounts if it's black. Some people burn out and leave, some have left involuntarily , and some people leave and then change their minds and make a new profile.

I don't remember what it looks like if someone has hidden their profile to avoid getting mail from strangers, but...if you still have their last letter you can just hit reply to it and send them another one. If they post in these boards, even if their profile is hidden, just look to the bottom left where it says Hide, Profile, and PM, and hit the PM button. If they are updating their main pic on past letters, yep, it's hidden but not gone. Unless they altered pix one last time before deleting their profile, lol.
