I have heard of pros asking for full names and a work phone number.
Yes, they actually call their job to verify that John Doe works there.

Personally, I have an issue with this practice but that's why I don't do it.
I don't even ask my clients full names, just for a 1st name and photo.

Getting someones criminal record in the UK is near on impossible. I would have to come up with so much documentation and even then its unlikely they would hand over the information.
When I pro Dommed I did so in the City of London which meant I got a lot of customers and also meant that some of those customers held very important jobs, some within parliament. It could well of been professional suicide for some of my clients to of given their names. I fully expected false names and they fully expected my pro name would be false. They never knew my home address and I never knew theirs. The only time I ever had a photo of a submissive was after doing a BDSM video with them. At the end of the video they were always filmed fully clothed and telling the camera that it was consensual but even then they didn't give a name.
What I did have set in place was a team of staff that were my protection and I felt safer with these people around than I ever would of with a formal safety check.
The man who attacked me was arrested and it turned out that he had no previous record of violence towards women and no record of mental illness.
When my sister met a guy who she thought was nice but who later that evening stabbed her 17 times, it turned out he had no ex criminal record or record of mental illness. He had just been messing around with his Thyroxine medication and had caused temporary thyroxine madness. A safety check on him would of been very misguiding.

I'm sorry about your sister.

A clear criminal back ground check doesn't always mean anything.
It could simply mean they have't been caught yet.
Or as in your examples done anything yet.

I've recently began doing before interviews with video slaves and bottoms for my sites. Them simply nick they will be known by in videos, describe the scene we are about to do, that they are consenting.

Thanks Athena, that was some years ago and she's fine now but it was all very traumatic at the time. The thing is, we can all get paranoid, I certainly did for years after this happened to my sister. I think we should all tread with caution when inviting a stranger into our home but when it comes to a man handing money over to a woman it becomes an even bigger risk. The thing is though, if you are a pro Domme or a pro sub you have every excuse to have other people around on your premises when that stranger turns up. You don't ever have to be alone with them.
I know pro Dommes and pro subs who don't take any precautions with their safety. I know pro subs that allow themselves to be tied up by new clients in a dungeon when they are alone. I never presumed a submissive male client was actually submissive and thats why I always had staff around the dungeon. If my staff couldn't turn up then my appointments were canceled.

Yeah, I am not one to ask things like full name, work numbers, addresses and such... because I can absolutely appreciate the risk to them - and I'm sure as hell not giving all that of *mine*.

Random guy on CollarMe or Tagged or such writes and asks for my home or work address and he gets told where to stuff it. I expect and respect the same from others.
