Echoing what has already been said by others, I didn't meet my wife on this site. I did, however, meet a woman I was completely not a match with, who introduced me to a local group, where I did meet the amazing woman I've been happily married to these last 7 years.

First and foremost, I'm grateful for the opportunity to encounter such interesting, thoughtful and generally wonderful posters as I have "met" here, including but not limited to, in alphabetical order: Archer, Awareness, Bita, Bull, Celtic, ChatteParfait, Crazy, Fairer, Faramir, Grace, Greedy, Heretic, Ishtar, Jeff, Kaliko, Kim, Kirata, Knight, LadyPact, LAM, Leonidas, Level, Liz, Lucky, Maria, Naja, Orion, Peon, Ron, Sylvere, Tim, Tigresse, Unbuilder, and various others whose names I can't recall offhand.

It's been fun, people.

IWYW,
— Aswad.

(Edited to add a few, though still not complete.)

I really enjoy this place, and I am grateful for its existence.

I've met a handful of people here, whom I consider friends. Some from the CM side and some from the CollarChat side. Some very close friends of the Mister & I were met on this site. They live near me and we get together regularly. I met the Mister here.

In many ways, I grew up here. When I first came here in 2006, I was pretty screwed up - just getting out of an awful marriage, involved in a ridiculous M/s (cough) relationship, and thinking I knew it all. I learned to communicate better here, and to be more open minded. I've learned so much here - from both those I've agreed with and disagreed with.

I'm so grateful for the friends I've met along the way here - those I've met in person and those I haven't had the pleasure of meeting in person, but whom I've emailed with privately and regularly, and whom I've had some amazing phone conversations with.

I'm grateful for the site, for the moderation, and for everyone who posts here.

CollatMe has given me many friends and a few that are lost now . Laughter and tears . Sunny days and moody nights .
I have learned what not to do and many things to do here . CM has changed me as has the people on it . This is what life is
about . If you can't or won't change your not living .

Thank you everyone that posted and shared your appreciation for this marvelous website.

We members get so much from CollarMe, isn't it nice to give something positive BACK to those that have made this website possible for us?

Some of us have already entered into a New Year, and those of us in the USA will be entering into a New Year in a few hours.

What a wonderful way to end 2012, writing positive messages, sending out good vibrations and wishes, and showing gratitude for those that created/maintain/moderate, and run this website!

Thank you for providing us with this website in which we: have been able to learn, grow and express ourselves, experience good times, create great memories, have had many good laughs, formed bonds, friendships and relationships, and had fun and entertainment.

I hope it's not too late to add a pair of thoughts:

-- My contribution to last night's festive air here in OTD was a thread on chronic (non-BDSM) pain, which has recently become an unwelcome addition to my life. I was moved beyond words by the kindness of those who took the time and energy to craft thoughtful, advice-filled responses.

-- In P&R, a gentleman (and I use that word with respectful seriousness) with whom I may never agree politically reached across the proverbial "aisle" to start a thread wishing a speedy recovery to Hillary Clinton.

I met Master here and, in May, we celebrate 7 years together and 5 years of marriage. I am so, so thankful for that. NuevaVida, you are one of the greatest things about this site. I remember you all the way back to 2007 when I found this site and I have always found you amazing. I am so happy for how things have worked out for you. You so deserve it. Basically, thanks to everyone here I've learned from and enjoyed reading.......luci

VideoAdminAlpha -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (1/3/2013 11:17:53 PM)

I know Im late to the party, but wanted to wish everyone the BEST YEAR, emotionally, socially, financially, and healthwise for 2013. I came to this thread after posting on another on the boards, and needed the pick me up ( Yeah, I occasionally LOVE kudos, as does the rest of the staff, even though not required, no matter what the FL group has to say about these kind of threads). Even though I am a nobody, I truly value every one of you, and know, paid or not, I am truly lucky to be able (hopefully) to be of service to every one of you (Whaaaa, dommes can serve when they WANNA!!!) [;)] Collarme has been a HUGE influence on me personally, when I joined in 2005 and started posting, to now, when it sometimes seems to consume every waking moment even more than then, lol. I would not be "me" without yall, and want to personally thank YOU for being part of my life!!!

BitaTruble -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (1/4/2013 12:08:30 AM)

It's my online homebase for all things kinky and M/s so if Uncle Ed farts at the dinner table every once in a while, I cut some slack to the old guy cuz despite the gas, there's some pretty interesting stories to be found.

Besides, if it weren't for collarme, I'd never have gotten to sleep with NV. [8D]

Oh, and I think that FL sucks ass.

That's not a personal attack but a profound opinion.

Moderate me. [:D]

I wouldn't have believed that D/s existed and a fantasy would never have been re-created without these boards. Some level of hope that I'd put away decades ago, came back to life. I'd put CM amongst the top ten things that the Internet has done for me.

needlesandpins -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (1/6/2013 12:45:52 PM)

i joined the site because the others i am a member of were/are too quiet. these boards always seemed busy so i thought i'd be able to get alot out of it. now while i have strongly stated my views on some areas of moderation; for the most part i really like this site, and the people in it.

i've had some of the best regulars teach me about things i couldn't get my mind around. i have also come across some very wonderful people through the 'i admit' thread. my boy and i have had alot of support in there through our bad times. a select few people have brought me to tears with their kindness too. i've enjoyed reading posts by certain members, and seeing there name posting on a thread can pull me in for a read even if i may have otherwise ignored the title.

i've just done a mental health course that was horrid to do, and very tedious. not for the subject matter, but in the poor way the course was set out. however, i set myself goals to reach and at the end of each one gave myself a break. during the breaks i would have a cuppa, and visit the forums to easy my brain.

cheers CM

needles

TenderTorment -> RE: The RISE of CollarMe/or The CollarMe Appreciation Thread (1/6/2013 1:11:05 PM)

Another newbie's perspective....

Having joined around a week ago I'm still finding my feet around here so to speak, I have yet to encounter any of the mod's in any capacity, however I can appreciate they do a pretty thankless task with little or no reward/appreciation, so it's nice to see some positivity on this front.

I'd also like to add that so far I have found the folks on here to be vibrant, friendly and welcoming, I look forward to being a proud member of CM and making new friends of a like mind over the coming years.

Cheers y'all
