There were a number of threads about "fakes" in off topic yesterday. The threads got pulled. Does anyone remember one that listed the ways to spot a fake (or something like that?)

That is what I get when I put it into Bing. I am sure that Google will bring you up lots of sites with advice.

A post is missing from this thread too. It was my post, and I did not get any golden mail explaining why. I posted to say that the "fakes" thread I was asking about was started by Karmastic. Literally, it said something like "why did Karmastic's thread on 'how to spot fakes' get pulled?" There was no answer. Lots of views, but no answer. And now my post is gone.

Before I wrote the thread, I emailed several people who were posting in off-topic that night. Several of them remember the thread, but none of them posted on it.

I didn't ask the mods directly about why the thread was pulled.

Funny thing is, I'm not completely sure Karmastic really wrote the thread, although I know he was listed as the OP.

I can state definitely that no posts on this thread have been deleted. I can't find any fake threads that were pulled this year but will continue looking into this.

ETA - there are fake threads on pages 2-4 in Off Topic.
