DesideriScuri -> Best Wishes to Hilary Clinton (12/31/2012 3:54:11 PM)

She's in the hospital from a blood clot on her brain. The clot is a result from a concussion she got from a fall at her home while recovering from a severe stomach flu that left her dehydrated.

Two things here.
    1. I've had stomach flu to the point where I dehydrated and fell, as a result. I have some feeling as to how she was feeling at
      that point

    2. I just lost an Aunt 9 days ago from massive blood clots in her heart (she had a scheduled surgery and the day before and
was walking with a nurse to get some tests done when she fell dead; big shock to the family), so this story hit me.

One last thing, and the biggest reason for this post, I wish everyone here - everyone - a safe and joyful NYE celebration and all the best in the coming year.

Didn't someone just recently post here that she was faking so she wouldn't have to testify re: Benghazi ?

Regardless, it worked for my purpose.

@DarkSteven: Thank you.

There are some questions. The public (as usual) is considered too dumb to be told the truth.

Doesn't matter. If you read my OP, you'll see the reason I started this thread in the first place.

FR

Warmest sympathies, DS, on the death of your aunt!

I've been blessed with some wonderful aunts and uncles and know the pain of losing them. Each passing leaves a huge hole in one's emotional ecosystem.

Here was someone who could offer an adult perspective and insight without the "static," for lack of a better word, that can cloud a parent-child relationship. (When Uncle Bob told me I really did need to submit my college applications on time, I could hear it as sage, worldly counsel rather than nagging.)

Here too was someone who knew the family landscape and could help one understand the forces that shaped one's parents and one's own self. (When Aunt Brenda said my folks were good people who deserved the trust I'd been withholding by keeping my homosexuality a secret, I could appreciate and act on that advice. And yes, she was right.)

All this to underscore that an aunt is no small loss. My warmest sympathies and prayers are with you.

And so, dear fellow poster, is my respect. We often seem to wind up on opposite "sides" of political questions, and I'm guessing your bumper's never borne a Hillary sticker. That makes all the more impressive, in this hyperpartisan era, your gentlemanly compassion in reaching across the aisle to wish the Secretary well. May this new year bring robust health to her and to all of us.

What he said!

I hope she does have a speedy recovery.

However there is a chance that this is part of the conspiracy by the grays to replace those political figures with alien controlled clones.

dc, thanks for the sympathy and the heartfelt comments. Her passing was sudden and completely out of the blue. I got to hear some stories about other relatives and visit with relatives I haven't seen since last year. It was the 4th death close to me in the past 21 months (I include my dog in that), and 3rd in the past 13 months. Add in my divorce 7 months ago, and it's been one helluva 2 years.

Unlike some political followers, I don't see those that disagree with me as enemies or foes (they're usually just misguided [:D] ). It's not the person that bothers me. It's the beliefs or the belief system. Thus, I bear little to no animosity towards those who disagree simply because of political leanings. Disrespect me or mine, and my animosity levels may increase, but it won't be because of politics.

I do think that on the boards, there are too many people getting upset with too many others when it's the beliefs that are causing the issue, not the people themselves. Not to say the people don't sometimes deserve the ire, but...

Dear God, that does sound like a wild ride.

My family went through something similar in 2003. With my taste for inappropriate humor, I kept wondering who'd enrolled us in the Funeral of the Month Club.

DS... Cheers to you for this thread, and I am sincerely sorry for your loss. My Uncle died last year, I was very close to him until I moved to canada and stillI feel his loss deeply, it was a complete shock.

Big question: Did you ask your relatives, or keep that one tightly locked in your brain? I'm still chuckling at it. Reminds me of that Aiwa car stereo commercial.

@Lucylastic: Thank you for your condolences. Please accept mine, belated though they are.

FR: As much as I appreciate the condolences and heartfelt words, that wasn't the point of my OP, either! I will restate it here: Best wishes for the greatest year ever for each and every one of you.

mnottertail -> RE: Best Wishes to Hilary Clinton (1/2/2013 6:30:02 AM)

DS, sorry about the Aunt.   Hope it was a good run.

I think this puts Hillary out for 2016.

I shared it selectively with folks who'd appreciate my twisted humor.

Dunno Ron, if its as a result of the concussion, its shouldnt knock her out medically speaking, but the age plus the medication could decide further her decision not to chance it
