Dianna --

I swear, you and I must be connected in some way.  I've never seen anyone express that they perform rit play like....well almost identical.....to how I do it.

Wow.

Yes, funny how that happens, huh? Many of us are connected if we just choose to open our hearts and minds we would see that.

For those curious about BDSM and Spirituality:
http://www.sensuoussadie.com/resources/spiritualityquotes.htm

And for Ritual in SM practices:

Ritual Pain:

Ordeal Path/Neopagan BDSM:

A few books that touch on these subjects, not necessarily in any one religion or practice, are:
Geoff Mains: Urban Aboriginals
Tristan Taormino: Ritual Sex
Trevor Jacques: On the Safe Edge (chapter on spirituality and ritual)

This is very much how I see things with our servants, as well. In fact, each short-term servant with us is assigned a plant to represent his or her "flowering", and is required to tend, water, and I will shape, thin, train to trellis or support, and harvest any fruits borne, for the individuals's and the enclave's benefit... as a representation of his or her yielding. The get to watch the plant germinate, grow, flower, and bear fruit.

For our longer-term servants, once they enter 2nd circle, a bonsai tree is aquired to represent that servant. They water it, but I prune it and shape it, and trim its roots and transplant it as necessary. The tree will be the representation of them through their time with us.

I find that the actual representation through a living plant reinforces the desire within the servant to grow and to accept the work of the hands that will protect and guide that growth.

I believe in the Spirit of the submissive as a blooming flower, the shedding of will like the shedding of green that opens unto a flower. . . .that it is just such definition, just such organization that squash Spirit, that brings the Submissive to our door to find release at any price. . .

I'll provide you the definition that is most related to what we are talking about here:

spiritual

adj 2: concerned with or affecting the spirit or soul; "a spiritual approach to life"; "spiritual fulfillment"; "spiritual values"; "unearthly love"

If something relates to the spirit or soul, and the responses of the spirit or soul, especially in comparison to that which relates predominantly to the body, that thing is considered spiritual.

Whatever happened to looking something up in an online dictionary?

It grexes me when someone asks me how close I am to them when they can stick it in Mapquest and find out for themselves.  Likewise, your question shows that you could use your resources a little more wisely!

This is also a pet peeve of mine. I hate it.

Lashra -> RE: Curious about Spiritual Femdoms (6/19/2006 1:18:16 PM)

I have believed in the Earth Goddess since I was a small child. At the age of 8 I asked our Priest a question and was told to be silent and go out and play. Well I'm not the type to be silent or go out and play when there is something I want to know! His failure to answer my question set in my mind that the church was resistance to questioning. That meant to me that what they wanted attending sunday school were sheep and not humans who could think for themselves.

I have never believed that a true God/dess could dislike so many of the very children s/he supposedly created. How could a God/dess dislike women? How could a God/dess hate homosexuals when s/he is the one who created and made them that way? Why did s/he give us free will if everything is a sin?All of my younger years spent in sunday school I never felt at peace, because what they were teaching me simply did not make sense.

The day I discovered the Goddess was the day I felt serenity and peace come into my mind, body and soul. I have never looked back nor ever doubted my Goddess, for she will stand with me when no one else will.
