Woooo totally looking that up! Would they break? What about ruffles? Which flavors are toxic? Do non potato based chips count? (All rhetorical questions, I'll just look at the actual thread ;P )

Pretty sure your average earthworm, like most bugs, are about 90% protein - as noted, any toxins are more likely to be found in the soil rather than the worm, E. coli being the most likely if the soil was fertilized with non or partially composted manure, wash em off and dig in.

I wonder if washing them off would be enough. Don't earthworms ingest earth? If so, wouldn't the E. coli be inside them as well?

eeehhh...kids eat worms all the time. I don't think we hear many cases of them getting ill from it. Yeah, sure, it's possible. It's possible to get ill from anything.
