ORIGINAL: SimplyMichael Anyone here ever hosted one? The scene is SO poly in SF, I am considering hosting one and was curious if people who had done one had any ideas. My goal is to attract the sort of people who tend to shy away from the scene, have.lives and careers and are in general a bit higher end than you tend to find at your typical.munch. Got a beautiful.upscale playspace lined up for about $400 Catering from a friend who is a.private chef for about $500 So 15 women at $20 and 15men at $40 seems realistic. Require at least business casual or cocktail party dressy should help narrow the focus. Three or four rounds, each with a different theme ro allow different people to shine. Anyway, curious what ideas people have. 1. I am a little puzzled whether you are offering a munch or a play session thing. If the former, I am not sure why it's in a play space. If it' the latter, not sure why people would come in business casual or cocktail party dresses. And if you are specifically pitching people who "stay away from the scene," does a play space make sense? 2. Not sure what you mean by "rounds." 3. I'd suggest you closely monitor the guest lists, so you maintain a balance of men and women. 4. I live in Los Angeles, and I don't perceive the scene down here as particularly poly. In this area there are a million events. Lots of munches, which are generally free. Lots of play party stuff, which is often about $20. If you were offering basically a munch, $40 seems really high.
