There are certain red flags in people's profiles or messages that you can use to tell if they're fake. Look for inconsistencies. I don't trust 1 liner profile descriptions. I don't trust most pictures that look like headshots. (probably cut from a magazine) I mean, people usually take pics outside or in the house. You can see their stuff and at least tell that it's a real person and not some model from google images. I also don't trust people who seem too eager or want to chat immediately off site or mention sex in their first message. A good first message to send to people is: Hello my name is ( ). I enjoyed reading your profile (actually read it) and wanted to say hello to you. I would like to chat with you sometime if you're interested. If not, have a good day. Or something like that. Don't just say "Hi, you're gorgeous." or "What's u"p? wanna chat quote:
ORIGINAL: DarkSteven Hi, paul! Welcome to the site. What do you mean by fake? Here are some definitions I've run across: 1. A scam profile. 2. A finDomme's or tribute Domme's profile. 3. Someone who's clueless about the lifestyle. 4. Someone married, trying to cheat. 5. Someone who misrepresents his/her experience. 6. Someone who has fetishes, representing himself/herself as a sub when they only want someone to fulfill kink. As for me, I don't worry about it. If I'm interested, I'll start a conversation to determine vanilla compatibility. If we're not compatible, it'll be evident, and a fake will be nothing more than a specific kind of incompatibility. I don't see how half of your definitions qualify. 1. Financial domination is a legitimate fetish. And it's not all about taking money from people. Some dom/mes actual manage their sub/slave's finances and show them how to spend responsibly. 2. This site is for couples in individuals. If someone is married it doesn't mean they're cheating. 3. Someone who is clueless may just be a newbie from the middle of bum fuck nowhere, where there is no fetish lifestyle around them. Doesn't mean they're a fake. quote:
ORIGINAL: ccc3333 If they ask for money off the bat, they are probably scammers. If they have a yahoo msngr on their profile, probably scammers If they don't respond with anything original or have broken english theyre probably fake I find most profiles without pics are real. Most with really really hot pics and only one of em, are usually fake Most profiles with 2 words are usually fake as well. Just my observations. quote:
ORIGINAL: freshstartpaul It seems that this website has a lot of fakes on it. How do you weed those who are real from those who are fake? I'm new to BDSM and this site and want to make an impression and meet new people and create new friendships. I'm just nervous that the person I start talking to is only here to trick me. So, please, if I can be honest I'd love to know how to meet dominant woman and start talking to them and see where things go. I could always use a new friend. 1. Your comment about people speaking broken English being fakes offended me. I have 3 roommates, 2 Mexican and 1 Vietnamese. They all immigrated to America and all speak broken English. Our language is confusing to them at times and some words don't have a translation in their language. So, no, everyone who speaks broken English isn't a fake.
