Isnt this over kill?

I mean coffee, strong, two sugars, light cream and it must melt the metal spoon is all I ever needed.

Who the fuck needs 87000 possible coffee combinations?

I cant even imagine how long it would take you to drink that many cups of coffee to try each one.

You probably really miss that beer in the white cans with the black lettering.

Actually never really been a beer drinker. An occasional British or Irish ale. Of which you cant get a decent one on the western side of the pond.

I love coffee so I love to try all different types. I usually try to try new ones whenever I see a new one just because I'm curious to know what it tastes like. It's like foodies who like to try all different foods and combinations.

ETA: I should say...used to.

There is a nice cafe/diner her in town, been around since the twenties, family owned. They have the modern drip coffee makers, but for us die hard old cowboy type critter people they have a campfire peculator coffee pot that sits on the stove.

I like my coffee to melt the spoon I stir in the little bit of cream I use.

And since I only drink coffee in the winter, I have a campfire coffee pot that I put on the wood stove we have to supplement the central heating.

Don't forget the options that are not even on the menu. I usually order a simple latte, but hate to wait for the person in front of me asking all these questions. They usually end up with the weirdest and most complicated coffee. Here it comes the tall soy latte, with two shots, and hazelnut flavor, two spoons of raw sugar, served in a medium cup. Yikes.

The problem I have with starbucks is the price of a cup of regular coffee, and the fact it is not strong enough for my tastes.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that order, except I get sugar free caramel, no added sugar, and it's a "Grande" cup. :)

The OP made me chuckle a bit and think of me ex father-in-law, whom I love dearly. He is convinced the world should think as he does, and has had this coffee conversation more than once. When he'd come for dinner I'd always ask if he'd like a half caf sugar free cinnamon latte with a twist, and he'd laugh and get on his coffee roll again. Hehe.

I think it is overkill. 30,000 combos would be plenty eh?

I actually prefer Peets Coffee by far. I buy the whole beans and grind/brew at home. But my office has a Starbucks in it, and they use better soy than Peets, so I do get an occasional treat for myself. Many of those.drinks are so dang fattening, so I avoid them.

I've been in a starbucks once. Some clients wanted to meet there to write a contract.
I ordered "Large coffee, black" They looked at me like I was unamerican.

I like Starbucks coffee but I buy it on sale and brew it at home. It's usually still a little pricier than other brands even when it's on sale but it's not like double the price.

$3.50 for a cup of coffee? what? is the stuff laced with gold? they going to have some hot babe give you a blowjob under the table?

I can get a cup of decent, if weak, coffee at Denny's for less than that.

They need that many options to cover the horrid taste of their awful coffee :P

I really used to enjoy starbucks. Then my brother turned me on to a french press and coffee that isn't over-roasted to the point of tasting scorched. The difference is astonishingly delicious.

I hear the term "french press"and it conjures up images of two good looking french women pressing me between them.

I will stick to my coffee pot on the wood stove.

Yes I know it "ruins"the coffee, but I am an uncivilized west Texas native and ex army. I grew up on strong coffee, drank it in the army, and a drip coffee maker just dont make it strong enough, no matter how many scoops of coffee you put in it.

Starbucks tall, hot, nonfat, no whip mocha: $3.65 and worth every penny.

Dunkin medium hot, two and two, half a shot of mocha: $2.06 and I curse every time I get one because it's not Starbucks.

I do like the fact that they came up with the "why bother?".
Wouldn't want to drink one, mind...

I don't make a habit of visiting the actual Starbucks stores for cups of coffee but when I have I have never ever ever ever ever ever paid $3.50 for a large coffee. Never. I don't know what Starbucks you visit. Wait - you don't even go there. How the fuck would you know what it costs?

I really don't get all the anti-Starbucks sentiment that exists. I guess I can understand the sentiment against the Starbucks mentality but that's really no different from any coffee shop I have been in. People rave about this little one off coffee shop in town here. It's a nice little place but it isn't fundamentally any different from a Starbucks. I think Starbucks coffee itself is good (especially the Italian Roast) and if you are a careful shopper and have a triple digit IQ you can find it at reasonable prices.
