Kirata -> U.S. Strategic Interests (1/13/2013 10:54:12 PM)

News Flash: Jews Are 'Apes And Pigs.'

Last Friday, the sitting president of Egypt – the world’s 15th most populous nation — was exposed for calling Jews "apes and pigs." And he did it in a TV interview (in Arabic) in 2010, less than two years before he took office... Apes and pigs aside, Morsi also warned his TV listeners that Jews have never been nice people. "They have been fanning the flames of civil strife wherever they were throughout history," he oozed. “They are hostile by nature.”

Military source: US arms deal continuing despite lawmakers' objections

Egypt's negotiations with the US to acquire F-16 aircraft and M1A1 Abrams tanks are proceeding smoothly, a senior Egyptian military source has said... He added that demands made by some Congressmen to stop weapon deals with Egypt are motivated by electoral interests, adding, however, that the US administration does not take into account the opinions of voters when it makes assistance deals because such deals are connected to higher strategic interests.

It seems only right to give this quote some context with leading Israeli quotes:

Menachem Begin "[The Palestinians] are beasts walking on two legs."

Yizak Rabin "[Israel will] create in the course of the next 10 or 20 years conditions which would attract natural and voluntary migration of the refugees from the Gaza Strip and the west Bank to Jordan. To achieve this we have to come to agreement with King Hussein and not with Yasser Arafat."

Moshe Dayan: "We want [Palestinian] emigration, we want a normal standard of living, we want to encourage emigration according to a selective program."

"Our American friends offer us money, arms, and advice. We take the money, we take the arms, and we decline the advice."

Yitzak Shamir "(The Palestinians) would be crushed like grasshoppers ... heads smashed against the boulders and walls."

Ehud Barak "The Palestinians are like crocodiles, the more you give them meat, they want more"....

Ariel Sharon "Everybody has to move, run and grab as many (Palestinian) hilltops as they can to enlarge the (Jewish) settlements because everything we take now will stay ours...Everything we don't grab will go to them."

It's amazing. 30 years ago in this country, a politician who refused to pledge his undying support for Israel was labeled an anti-semite and became unelectable but, with Dear leader, the darling of the mind-numbed, pablum puking left, it seems that anti-semitism is the order of the day. Well, played, liberals. Well played.

They were Israeli quotes, not my quotes and they put the Egyptian quote into context. I fail to see how posting a few quotes is anti-semitic when it is just adding balance to a post.

Questioning Israel is not anti-semitic and such anti-semitic accusations are designed to shut people up and stop them criticizing Israel.

Which one of those quotes was from the guy currently running Israel?

DaddySatyr -> RE: U.S. Strategic Interests (1/14/2013 2:33:55 AM)

My post was not directed to you but, if you're feeling guilty, look elsewhere for absolution.

Your quotes, as you pointed out, were by Isrealis. My post was about how the general tone in this country has changed.

If you took that as me, calling you an anti-semite, I feel bad but won't apologize because my post was not the least bit cryptic. The only way my post could possibly have applied to you is if you were an American politician 30 years ago and refused to profess your undying support for Isreal or, if you believe that the current US foreign policy against Isreal is the right way to forge ahead. US foreign policy as perpetrated by the current failure-in-chief is and has been decidedly anti-Isreal and pro- Palestinian. I'm not assigning any cause-and-effect, mind you; just stating the obvious.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I have no problem with being called anti-semitic, I just challenge it when people call me it when I put Israeli-American policy into perspective.

Your post replied to mine according to the thread indicator, which was why I replied to you.

Do you really want me to get started on the extremist idiot Netanyahu?

"Israel should have exploited the repression of the demonstrations in China, when world attention focused on that country, to carry out mass expulsions among the Arabs of the territories."

“This is disputed land, not Palestinian, or we claim public ownership.” (occupied territories)

I don't want to govern the Palestinians. I don't want them as subjects of Israel or as citizens of Israel. I want them to have their own independent state but a demilitarized state.

Netanyahu also believes in a greater Israel so where does he think the Palestinian state will be and an unarmed own which according the the National Rifle Association means subjugation.

If I thought it would make a difference to your prejudices I would post a host of Netanyahu's more anodine quotes within context of the conflict.

I don't see how his quotes are equivalent to morsi's.

If you aren't aware of Netanyahu's thoughts on the Palestinians and Arabs, perhaps you shouldn't be taking part in this discussion until you have corrected your ignorance on his position and it isn't just Netanyahu's position in isolation but the historic position of Israel in regard to the Arabs under their subjugation.

As regard to the OP, the USA has enabled this conflict to continue and fester as long as it has due to it allowing itself to be the tail to the Israeli's dog.

You didnt throw out complete thoughts. You threw out quotes. I compared said quotes. They are not equivalent.

Quotes in isolation of context could even make Adolf Hitler sound reasonable (or not). That was my beef with the OP.

Sorry to say this, but the US has interfered with the internal and regional politics of the world in general to the point where we seem to be hell bent on making the world safe for McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and stupid reality tv shows.

Edited to add, I forgot Walmart.

I guess in your world as long as someone else did it first, it's all good. We wouldn't want to hold anyone responsible for the hateful shit they say.

Boi, would you please stop applying logic to a problem?

Humans have the god given right to say stupid, hateful and complete bullshit whenever and where ever they want.

Of course those of us with more civilized minds have the right to call them on their crap and hit em with truth, apple pie and a ball bat if necessary.

Don't tell me, you are a good christian who turns the other cheek when your home and lands are stolen?

Arabs have every right to consider the west and its allies as double dealing, two faced back stabbing shits.

Maybe if we finally got off our ass and developed homegrown renewable energy to the point where our petroleum is enough for our use we could just let those fuckers in the ME go back to cheerfully killing each other like they've been doing for thousands of years and stop putting our young men and women in harms way so some CEO can buy a new yacht.

Well, at least you admit it is for their oil you are killing for and not democracy.

Yep true and its right to say the Arabs started a trend of genocidal speech. Abdul Rahman Azzam, the Arab League's secretary-general, said that the establishment of Israel would lead to "a war of extermination and momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacre and the Crusades." Then loadsa Arab nations invaded. lol Israeli leaders made harsh statements said often in times of Intifada or war but Morsi spoke during a long peace between those states. I see loadsa awful Israeli quotes but many appear to be dubious at best.
