Suggesting the murder of the first Vietnam War veteran elected to Congress and slamming 9/11 victims apparently hasn't scared away any of the 100-plus editors who run her syndicated column, reports Editor & Publisher , which quotes a statement from Universal Press Syndicate :"Ann's client newspapers stick with her because she has a loyal fan base of conservative readers who look forward to reading her columns in their local newspapers."

A good column should be as much provocative as informative but its pointless if it is just confirming your views. Liberals should read conservative columns and conservatives should read liberal columns.

I'm still with OedipusRexIt, I'd do her. A sort of liberal rape of a conservative. Now that is a turn on![sm=evil.gif]

I do read conservative viewpoints actually. However, Coutler is a sociopath, so I don't consider her anything, really---[;)]

Another thread on Coulter and here I am posting to it again. Is there a twelve step program for this. "I am powerless when it comes to my hatred of Coulter."

Media has become about having two opposing sides on and seeing wackiness ensue. Actual facts and information is boring and does not bring in ratings for all the cable news shows. Coulter, in a sickening way, gets used from both sides. The far right nut jobs (her base) get someone to agree with and the left get an easy target to pick at. Actual relevant topics and the people left in the middle get nothing.

It is always important to be informed on both sides of the duscussion, but the people who frame the arugments are so one sided and use ways that distort the facts then it is really tough to learn anything relevent and this happens from both sides. Lawyerization of society. Passionate argument for your cause and let the chips fall  where they may instead of worrying about things like the truth.

Although I haven't been able to undertake the complete examination of Ms. Coulter that I would desire, I believe this diagnosis is correct.

I agree. Suggested conservative columnists: George F. Will, David Horowitz, Thomas Sowell.
 
Suggested liberal columnists: Katha Pollit, Alexander Cockburn, Paul Krugman.
 
Suggested columnists that zig-zag across the politcal divide: Christopher Hitchens, PJ O'Rourke, Camille Paglia, Nat Hentoff.
 
And for anyone that tires of lusting after Coulter, give Michelle Malkin a shot.

One of my favorite sayings is :  I never learned anything by talking.

I appreciate others' viewpoints.  I admit, I've gotten jaded and have come to know too well what to expect from certain sources, but still make myself read them anyway.  Level names a good spectrum in his post.

I draw the line at actually reading/listening to the Rushes, Ann Coulters, and even, sadly, the Al Frankens, who I don't believe offer reasoned arguments.

Some of the most insightful things I've read lately have come from these forums.



Even so, still do want to fuck that weasally bitch...  Somebody please change the subject.

And Level, I'm so damned ignorant, I don't who this Michelle babe is... got any dirt on her?

Evening, Rex. Miss Malkin is probably a notch or two behind Coulter in the "screeching right-wing Valkyrie" sweepstakes lol. She makes some good points, but can be quite shrill at times.
 
As for Rush, I used to listen to his radio show, he can be funny sometimes, but he can also be hypocritcal and he can't cede a point to the left, when they deserve one.

"Right wing valkyrie"..... great phrase.  Think I'm going to carve it on my whip.  That should inspire.

I once worked in an office of 60 in which all but 3 of us were Republicans.  You couldn't go anywhere without hearing Rush.   I used to have to make my way down the hall yelling "Bullshit" into every office (in some cases literally, in others, a bit less overtly).  Just can't abide the blather any more.

As for 'Cleaver's comment, God help me but there's some merit to that.
