Gun blogs and message boards are full of posts like "i got price gouged," wherein Blue Cow at the Indiana Gun Owners forum writes:

Len said "That was last weeks prices, everybody else is gouging so I should make a buck doing it to."


A California gun owner kvetched at Calguns.net that price gouging for ammo should be illegal:

I let her know I'm looking at the catalog with the price of $399.95. If a hardware store charges $100 for a sheet of plywood in advance of a storm, they can be fined and/or jailed. Why is there not something to stop price gouging on ammo

...The price-gouging may have an upside, though not for the gun lovers: It might help keep sales in check — at least temporarily...

Schadenfreude anyone?

BTW: I have more than enough ammo for my .380 Colt pistol - I don't need to run out and buy more.

Status: offline 		The same exact thing happened just after Obama was elected to his first term. Eventually the supply caught up to demand. I'm sure it will again and the American people will be even better armed than before. And once again gun grabbing democrats have done more for sales of guns and ammo than millions of dollars in advertising. I don't see any national legislation resulting in gun or magazine bans passing.

Economics, you whiners (the gun owners complaining about prices)!! Lots of people buying lots of ammo will reduce the stocks of ammo. And, what happens when there is a shortage? Yup. Prices go up, up, up.

Definition of CAPITALISM : an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

Sounds like it a fight between one person....

Status: offline 		Actually it seems that after EVERY mass shooting, many gun nuts rush off to the local gun shop to buy up massive quantities of both guns and ammo. The fear that....this time....might be what brings the nation to ban guns and/or ammo. In about two or three months, there will be ANOTHER mass shooting somewhere, and this whole thing will simply start all over. In fact, I wonder if gun shop owners didnt secretly vote for Mr. Obama but publically stated they voted for the Republican loser. Think about it, they have alot to gain from a Democratically controlled White House or Congress.

As the old phrase went: A fool is soon parted with his money.
