Granted there are many "ugly Americans".

Let me add, that, there are some very decent Americans who understand we are interdepenent. That might does not = right. That a good idea will stand on its own weight.

I for one have been embarrassed by the crap we export around the globe. Much of it is... crap.

The USA, has been taken over by corporations who use religion as a tool.

The average American, at least in my town, is very human. Will lend a helping hand.

Multi national corps do not speak for me. Do not speak for many in the USA.

I hope we can clean up our mess, and soon. [08?]

-sincerest regards

No, Celeste. Im serious. this is an issue very close to my heart and i feel so sorry for you all. it must be awful living in a country like yours. you have my deepest sympathy.

Your initial premise is flawed.

Most Americans (i.e. over half the population) have no hesitation at the act of shooting someone else?
Got any evidence for that, or are you superimposing your predelictions or something you got from the movies onto people you don't even know?

Most Americans (same definition) get upset at the sight of a nipple?

America's porn industry rakes in billions. Who is buying all of it , and attending nudist camps, dungeons, etc? Just a small handful of wealthy eccentrics?[:D]

The Jackson flap involved showing adult nudity to children, and guess what?...other countries have the same prohibition on nudity during family shows as the US.

If you do indeed have a point that you would like to see discussed, you might try making it in serious and accurate terms.

michaelGA2 -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 9:32:49 AM)

people shouldn't watch sports anyway...it rots the brain and make people stupid...LOL

pahunkboy -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 9:37:33 AM)

The teens are out of school for the summer.

My point is... the left should not be confused with unamerican.
A person can have views that are left of center, and be just as patriotic, just as country lovong as the right.

I wont turn off my air conditioning. I wont compromise my way of life that kin and otehrs faught HARD to win/obtain.

I am not renouncing being American. I am noboddies whipping boy.

I dont smoke.

-regards

missgiveNTake -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 10:55:43 AM)

Who would belive that the media represents the truth? Also, why is this just now being brought up? The media post what will be the more dramatic story. Do you think they will show the family that didn't blink at the view of Janet's nipple or the family that makes a scene over it???

I sure hope everyone over seas doesn't believe what American TV displays.

NastyDaddy -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 11:05:06 AM)

Sex and nudity are only tolerated for advertising... nobody made a cent over Janet's nipple, therefore it is not allowed free mass broadcast.

Actually no. well spotted Sherlock.

its about the morality of you confused Americans.

I'm not an American. I just find baiting dumb and childish and shows up the confused morality and lack of intellect of the baiter.

juliaoceania -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 4:32:31 PM)

Same reason whack jobs get offended at women nursing babies in public. You can't even use em the way God intended without some religious right wing nut screaming... YOU PERVERTED JEZABEL, CORRUPTING THAT INNOCENT BABY IN FULL VIEW OF GOD AND EVERYONE.

I nursed my baby where ever I was anyhow, nipple phobia wasnt going to stop me...lol

michaelGA2 -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 4:39:48 PM)

religion has a way of corrupting things for "normal" people.

pahunkboy -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 5:20:04 PM)

Daddysredhead -> RE: Janet Jackson's Nipple (6/19/2006 6:48:35 PM)

I like nipples.
I have two of my own which helped feed my two kids when they were babies.
They are also fun when Master plays with them.
I also like Master's nipples because they are very sensitive and highly ticklish at times.
I don't care about Janet Jackson's nipples, but am sure that she and her boyfriend like them.
As for anything else on this thread, I also don't care, however, I am damn proud to be an American, and have a tattoo, which is special to me, that shows my pride in my country.
Would also like to let the OP know that I like British comedies.
I especially like John Cleese in the '60's comedy "Fawlty Towers."
One of my favorite tv lines is from this show, spoken by him...
"Mr. O'Reilly, if you do not come over here straight away and correct this mess, I shall be forced to insert a large garden gnome in you.  Good day."  ~ John Cleese as Basil Fawlty, Fawlty Towers   [:D]

(p.s. ~ I think the OP may be closely related to the former Jessykapower, just my opinion)  *giggles*

All nations have ugly people. Amerca is a powerful country so America's ugly people have a higher profile.

I think the person that started this thread just to rant is an example of what other countries produce. I don't think anyone on these boards had shown her/him disrespect.
