Have you ever hid other users so you don't have to see their posts or avatars? If so, what are your reasons for hitting "hide." My #1 reason is I can't stand looking at their avatar or photo. This occurred to me as I hid a user's profile today on the CMMB. Every time I see this woman's photo, I cringe. Today I thought, "I've got to hide it." I've done this for other posters as well (can't look at their avatars.) I've only ever hid another user for content one time, and its funny that that poster still remains consistently obnoxious (to me.) In total my count now is at 3 hidden posters. I don't miss any of them.....

I've hid a few profiles because the pic makes me go "eeewwww".

Once in awhile when in a long thread I will temporarily hide one or more users who are dominating with a discussion I am not interested in. This just makes it easier to navigate and find those I am interested in engaging a conversation with. Then when I am done I take them off hide. Butch

I've hidden 2 users on the forum. Both times it was because they are so incredibly dense that all discussions with them went no where except increasing my bp.

I've only hidden one forum participant, because of his avatar and his posts. He hasn't posted here in a very long time though, so you all are safe!

Ive never hidden anyone. The truly dense ones are entertaining.

just the one here quite a while ago. i hid that person because they were constantly antagonistic, but their writing was so bad that i really couldn't make sense of it. i did defend the person, and their lack of ability, but then they started pm'ing me with stuff, i just didn't care about, trying to get me on their side. so i hid them in here, and blocked on the other side. other than that i am of the opinion that i can just ignore people in the forums.the way i see it is like this; i may not agree with someone's opinions, i may argue very strongly with them as we both try to get our views across, but in the next thread i could be in total agreement with them, i may be able to learn something from them, or i maybe able to help them out if they need it and i have the knowledge/experience. the problem with some people is that they get so butthurt that you stood up for your own opinions instead of taking their's that they have to carry it into everything everywhere on the boards. i just shrug as it's no skin off of my nose. i really do like some of the 'people' here, but i'm not invested into anyone like i am to my closest friends. so if someone can't put aside that i'm as opinionated as they are, but won't agree with them then block me. it says more about that person than me. i do chuckle at those that can't debate a point and have to 'that's it i'm blocking you'. it does reminds me of the girl i met at a new school once. she thought she was all that too, and when i didn't agree with her said 'that's it you can't be in my gang anymore!' i stood there and laughed so hard it hurt. i told her that i had never been in her, or anyone else's gang ever. i was just me, and i'm very happy with just me. what a shame that she wasn't so that she had to get her power kicks like that. many years later one of our mutual friends told me that had bugged the crap out of her for years lol there are a couple of avatars i don't like in here, but i wouldn't hide someone just because of that....for the same reasons as above. on the other side though....i am up for many hourse of the day and night. i get board quite easily when there is nothing going on. so, it started with a really foul picture in someones's profile that made me eewwwwwwwbleugh and i hid it. i have made a game of it really to waste time. i just hide people because i can. silly maybe, but it does no-one any harm and i don't have to see them again. needles

I have never hidden anyone I get special wood when the ones that aren't too tightly wrapped come unraveled. These are my closest friends on the planet these quarter million fake profiles, its better than Lewis Black sometimes, by god.

I haven't hidden anyone due to their avatar but "MassMiss" avatar with the spider up close and personal scares the shit out of me, so I scroll past real fast if I think she has posted. Which sucks bc I like her posts usually. :)

I've hidden a few for their avatars because they were really disgusting. I don't think I have ever hidden a poster for their posts. Reading some of them gives me pause to thank the creator for having blessed me with the capacity for critical thought. Hiding them serves little purpose because some other mental giant just comes along behind them and quotes their post verbatim. Although I don't hide people for their posts I do look at the thread initiator of each thread before I click. There are a few I don't bother with and don't open the thread because they are usually out in the cheap seats beyond left field. Thankfully they largely never leave P&R. I have always found it very peculiar that someone would sign on to a fetish website and then participate only in the political forums and never post outside of the political forums. At the same time I am compulsively grateful to the forum owners for creating that space.

On the other side, I admit I hide profiles all the time. They are usually profiles where their main picture violates the TOS. On this side, I had 1 person hide when I first returned. Due to our encounters before. I admit that person is no long on hide. I actually enjoy reading their posts now.

I hid Heather. Or Hannah. I don't remember. But it was pointless. They were quoted all over the place. The hide didn't last long.

I've never hidden anyone from the forums. I've hidden countless folks from the personals side.

On the personals side I have absolutely zero "skin in the game". So there I'll hide people for no reason other than to get someone else to pop up on my default search. On the forum side I hide people. Generally it's because they have a demonstrated track record of one-true-wayism and/or believing they know more about someone's relationship than the participants in the relationship.

On the other side, yes, I have a lot of people on hide because I don't want to look at their pictures when I log in. On this side, I hid one person who doesn't post here for her avatar - a big hairy spider. I just couldn't look at it without getting the heebie jeebies. I've hidden antagonistic posters before but they were always quoted so much it didn't matter. Plus, hiding them or skimming through their posts makes it difficult sometimes to get the "flow" of the rest of the posts on a thread. I don't currently have any forum posters on hide, but I do still skim a lot.

Yeah I skim a lot too. I hide gross pics on the other side, sometimes it feels not fast enough, ewyuk! I dont hide anyone here but some of the pictures and posters make me feel ill. I love spiders. Not in the sense that I would try to keep one as a pet or anything but I like them. They seem like good insects to me. Not nearly as cute as ladybugs, nor as benign but as long as they dont bite me I feel they are okay. I feel sorry for them, why are they in the sink? Where do they really belong? If I pick them up with a piece of tissue and take them outside does that help them or would they rather stay in my bathroom eating other bugs, or hoping to? Not sure. I have a bin for garden waste and didnt use it for months because a spider had set up in there, with its net across the whole bin. I didnt want to wreck its nest so I just didnt use the bin and was glad when one day it was gone so I could toss stuff in from the garden again. They kind of scare me but they dont revolt me like roaches, silver fish type of insects.
