We have had a very warm winter so far here in Toronto. Nice and mild. Plants still green, some of em. It was unseasonably warm last week and now we are minus 8 with sno on the ground. Rain headed our way for Sunday I saw, we will see.

I have friends in NSW and they have been keeping me up to date with your freakishly hot summer and all the fires, so very sad.

I miss Oz. It is so cool to be someone from NA and be in the summer in our winter months. Plus the winter there was not bad at all. Tomatoes still grew.

I hope you all stay safe and cool over there across the ocean all that way.

Little rock here, we just had a sleet/ rain mix, it headed to Memphis after it hit us. Now it's sunny all week; somewhere around the 50s during the day, and 20s at night. Brrrrrr!

We've had almost 2 weeks of rain; that finally stopped and the sun came out yesterday... temps are in the 30s at night, and in the 60s during the day.

Yes, seekingowner2 was right by saying F. Twenty here for us is below freezing, but for Alaska talk, that's pretty darn warm for January. Monday was 43 above, believe it or not and rain, rather than snow. Unheard of at this time of year here. Right now, I'm sitting at -5F.

My backyard is pretty much trees and such but they are all covered in a layer of snow. It won't be light for several more hours but I'll see if I can put a shot of the outside later on this thread after some errands.

It's in the mid 30's and cloudy.

This week its been about the same 30s over cast or raining off and on.

I did offer a sprinkler, earlier. Plus a willingness to watch....

And how 'bout that rain! Thunder, lightning.... and.... all of a millimetre and a half in my rain gauge. Woo freakin' hoo!

Anyhoo, the cool change blew through with it and, at half past midnight, it's a more agreeable 26C and falling.

I'm in the Sacramento area of California and for this area it's been COLD - 20's to low 30's in the mornings, getting up to the 50's by day. Yesterday was so much nicer; I think it was in the 60's. And the zipper of my jacket broke - haven't fixed it or bought another one yet. Chilled to the bone.

Then again, it's better than our 105 summers....

Let's see...last weekend it was 80. Yesterday we had snow flurries after cold rain and fog that had lasted for 3 days. This weekend it will be sunny and 50's.

Snow in Staffordshire as well as Shropshire. Don't know if it's three inches, but it's still coming down. They're getting it heavy enough down south to close a couple of airports, it seems...

around 20 right now, but we are headed for the rhubarb, and into the 20-30 below zero range for the week after today. (Fahrenheit)
