The reason it showed someone viewed your profile at 9:49 a.m. is because.....

Someone viewed your profile at 9:49 a.m. on said day.

Status: offline 		When you look at profiles in your "hidden" profile, you will actually show
up on their "Who's Viewing Me" list once you unhide your profile.
I know this because, a month or so ago, it showed that you viewed me in February of 2012.

Maybe this person looked at you while they had a hidden profile, and have now exposed themselves.

There are lots of times when I click on my who's viewing me but it's empty. I always find that strange.

This happens to me, too, but I read once that's because someone I've blocked on the other side has viewed.

Status: offline 		LW,I have had that happen several times over the years until I had a few members test it out with me,turns out I was right.If someone views your profile that is hidden by you[but not sure about blocked] or that someone has a hidden profile,you will show someone had viewed yours but not show up on the page when you open it.

Dang it..guess I need to read the whole thread before responding....thanks Poise

ah ok. I don't have anyone hidden or blocked on the other side so it must be because they had hidden themselves.

Well, first you need a miniature fusion power pack to deliver the 30+ megajoules of power - at approximately one million amps. Your second problem is shielding yourself from the intense heat produced by the flow of current through the rails themselves and the friction of the projectile in the atmosphere. We have no known technology which can do this. Your third problem is somehow dissipating the reaction force from accelerating a projectile to Mach 10 within the space of a foot or two. Good luck with that one.

Basically, we'll get portable railguns around the same time we get warp drive. Which will immediately make them obsolete and open up any number of exceptionally terrifying possibilities. Any technology which can be used for superluminal travel can probably be weaponised. (Asteroid. Aim at offending planet. Accelerate close to speed of light. Bye bye planet.)

Someone opened a page of your profile when it was unhidden, and never closed the page. Then after you hid your profile again, they checked out your photos, or moved from your photos to your text, or something. Their computer only fetched the local information it had, to produce the page, then sent info back to CM saying you were viewed.

Or some variation on that, where computer X only looked at its local copy of your profile, before communicating with CM again to realize your profile was now hidden.
