Lucifyre -> Symbol of ownership (1/18/2013 8:50:28 PM)

Alright, so among other things Mr and I are doing lately, one of the things recently discussed was a new tatoo. (on me)
I'm not really sure what it is I'd like to get other than something that will represent His ownership of me. I'm not really into chinese lettering, I don't want to get the triskellion (He is going to get me a pendant of that, custom made specifically for me) and I'd kind of like it to be something delicate and girly like (think filigree type)

SO...anyone got any ideas? maybe post a few pics of things I could look at for inspiration? I'd really like whatever image I end up with to actually have the *ownership* meaning behind it...otherwise I could just do a google search of frilly girl shit and adopt something which I don't want to do. And NO I am NOT getting a fucking butterfly! ;)

Bonus points for something with a good story behind it (i.e. a thousand years ago this image was created because this sappy love story happened and blah blah you get the idea)

alright...3, 2, 1, GO!

Thanks in advance yall <3

Lucifyre

How about replace the forward flower below with his symbol - maybe on a shield - and that will show he's protecting you.

ETA:  Google tells the spelling is filIgree

LanceHughes -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/18/2013 9:03:30 PM)

Maybe a tattooed collar?
Something like:

Lucifyre -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/18/2013 9:05:28 PM)

Thanks Lance ;)
Both very pretty...do they have actual meaning behind them or are they just pretty?

He doesn't actually *have* a symbol of His own...hence one of the reasons I'm on the hunt

thanks for the spell correct...edited and fixed :)

I've heard this idea before (I can't take credit for it myself -- tattoos aren't really my thing, so I don't think about them a lot):

You could get some phrase with a certain meaning to you done in a foreign language. For instance, you could do "Vita Servitium," which is "Life of Service" in Latin. Or you could do any other phrase you like, in any language. Maybe that's too close to the Chinese character thing, though.

I just saw a tattoo of a person's fingerprint, very much enlarged. Something quite different.

crossboi -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/18/2013 10:36:07 PM)

Branding a family insignia perhaps?

Have you thought about where you would be getting
it? I have thought a bit about this kind of thing, and
I think I settled on a 'back of the neck' tattoo, a
respectably sized tattoo on the back of the neck is
easily concealable if you have long hair, extremely
visible if you put your hair up or in braids, it's in the
area a collar would be so has some symbolic value,
you wouldn't be able to see it without a mirror but
your master or anyone else who you wanted to show
could see it easily so that may reinforce that the
tattoo wasn't put on you for your own gratification.

Plus! I think they look sexyyy!

I like this idea.

Number 11, on the back of the neck as Aries suggested. I searched for a more unique but nice script.

That's very interesting... I like that one.

evesgrden -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 4:57:48 AM)

Make it small enough and simple enough that it can easily be transformed into something else.

Just in case.

Lucifyre -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 7:41:51 AM)

So I did a search for a family crest of our last name...no luck. I guess that gives me free reign to design something since there isn't one. I don't get it though...our name is a pretty old one (it means "projectile" in Italian hehe) so I would think there has to be something that represents it. But then again, maybe our lineage was poor and didn't need something like that (probably)

Please keep posting ideas! Something will strike me ;)

Some sort of anklet, vines and such, with a word or two entwined in there that means something only to the two of you. Or the name of the location where you first met. Or his pet name for you. But each kind of hidden among the tattoo so one would have to look for it to find it.

graceadieu -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 9:05:09 AM)

I knew a slave that got a chain bracelet tattooed on her wrist. For a guy she'd only been seeing for a couple of months, but anyway, that's an idea.

This is where the girls tattoos are.

ARIES83 -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 1:10:09 PM)

Why did you guys decide to go back of the neck?

SinFix -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 1:40:17 PM)

I have a feather on the left back side of my neck..  got it cause it symbolizes freedom to be me...  Aries is correct that unless my hair is up it is not visible

eta a word...

LadyPact -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 1:52:51 PM)

Fast reply......

Aw, lucy. You know I can't do pics worth a shit. [8D]

Actually, I don't do tattoos. I've got this weird thing about do the work Myself. I'm more into brands and cuts.

On the left side of clip's chest, he's got a cut of My symbol. I't's "LP" where the bottom of the L connects into the top of the P. The brand was the same design. Right now, we're working him up with the violet wand to do a brand that way. It's going to be a lot more extensive and put on the back left shoulder blade.

Due to circumstances beyond My control, the back of the neck isn't an option. I do think it's a lovely idea to have that spot.

Lucifyre -> RE: Symbol of ownership (1/19/2013 2:18:38 PM)

I was planning on putting it right above my pubic mound over my scar
No one but Him and folks He has me get nakid in front of will see it
or on one of my asscheeks
