Over the years my gfs and wives have been tall, short, fat, skinny, blonde, redhead and brunette; some have been widely admired, others have been generally considered dogs, but they've all been much alike in personality, so I can honestly say I loved them for their minds. With the last three, I spent months writing to them before I ever saw a picture, so their looks didn't come into it.

My late wife had some self-destructive tendencies, and the first picture she sent me was, I think, the most unattractive one she could find. I blinked, and thought "OK, I could learn to like that." And by the end of our first RL meeting, I thought she was beautiful.

Umm,
I'm attracted to personality but looks are a big
part too, having said that, I know a girl with
supermodel type looks who's personality makes
her so unattractive!
I was talking to a girl a couple of weeks ago
who reminded me of the chick I lost my
virginity to, the similarity of her body type and
personality was uncanny and I was extremely
attracted, (fyi, she turned out to be 18, not sure
if I'm too old for that now haha.)
Anyway, she didn't look like a supermodel but I
was a hundred times more attracted to her than
the one that does.

But looks are still important for me, and health
as well.

I believe I could take portions of most of these posts and put them together to answer the OP's question. (There are some really GREAT responses here!!
And I honestly don't feel this question is stupid, either!) : )

I'm attracted to BOTH sides of the coin... the looks AND the personality. I'm with bunny when she said the eyes are what pull her in. Expressive eyes are soooo sexy to me! Whether they sparkle, light up, are intense, are playful...oh YES!!!!!

You don't have to look like you stepped from the cover of GQ, or you wear the cuffs of a Chippendale guy, or you're in a He-Man contest. You can have a cute little cowlick and a crooked mustache. But I REALLY have a thing for personal cleanliness...clean fingernails, crisp shirts, freshly showered, fresh breath, clean socks, etc. And you don't have to be perfectly proportioned, but obesity is a TOTAL TURN-OFF for me.

Personality wise... someone who feels comfortable in his own skin; who laughs easily; who has a brain and uses it; who acts like a GENTLEMAN; who talks TO you and not AT you; who you can get a smile from across a crowded room because he is aware of you.

Granted I am out of shape now, but my younger days, before back surgery and old age set in, I never had a problem getting a date.

But when it came to the "HOT" girls, I always seem to hook up with those who had a "the universe revolves around me" attitude. In fact one had me put the top up on my 67 camero SS in in Georgia in August because she did not want the wind to mess up her hair.

A point for those who are not familiar with muscle car convertibles. A convertable does not usually come from the factory with air conditioning. I have seen one classic mustang that was not true.

The second thing is that in Georgia in August it id fucking hot.

Needless to say between her apartment and the restaurant, I sweated so much I looked like I had gone for a swim, and she was not much better.


Then she complained about sweating so bad in my car.

I was going to say, up until that last line, that I wondered how she liked her hair soaking wet.

As to the actual question, I'm not looking, but at this point, I've become so spoiled by having a husband that is just plain a good man, I don't see how I could ever put looks above those qualities.

When a woman meets me in person she would say I’m sweet, funny, mannered to a fault, protective, and old fashioned. All I ask in a woman is that she let me be those things and I can love and respect her…That is all that counts with me.

eer...I'll be the first to admit I hate convertibles because they mess up my hair. I'm one of these people that if I'm going on a date or someplace special, it takes me forever to fix my hair and being that my hair is fine and limp, it takes a lot to keep it in shape. When there's even a light breeze, my hair just tends to flop and knot up instantly.

So yeah, I guess I'm one of those type of women.

There is a girl I have known for two years from the plasma center where I donate twice a week.

We have never seen each other outside the plasma center.

The only thing I ever did was stand up for her when she got in trouble when an asshole client complained about her telling him not to bend his arm cause he could cause the needle to infiltrate the vein.

Today she said a few things to me that through me for a loop.

1) She admires my quiet assertiveness, whatever that means. Assertive and quiet are mutually exclusive in my mind. Would like to know what the fuck she was talking about. I am no different today than when I was Sargent first in the army.

2) Of all the men she knows, I am the only one she could be attracted to that was not a submissive.

3) She made it a point to tell me her relationship status may be changing in the near future cause her bf is acting like a spoiled mama's boy.

I find her very attractive, but she is not what one would call a cliche beauty, she is a little on the heavy side, not too tall. But she has the deepest brown eyes I have ever seen. I have tendency to get lost in them when we talk.
