ORIGINAL: myotherself I'm a lefty too, and am phenomenally clumsy! I have bumps and bruises all over from falling over and walking into things. At the moment I have a bit of a goose egg on my scalp from standing up quickly in an under-stairs cupboard and bouncing my skull off the door frame A couple of years ago I was talking to our Special Needs coordinator at school who was sitting in on some student assessments for dyspraxia. Just for fun, I did some of the tests too. Some of the kids who came away with a diagnosis of dyspraxia scored better in the tests than I did, lol! ETA: I was playing with a friend a few years ago in a club. He fastened my wrists to a free-standing St Andrew's Cross. After about 10 minutes I started to drift into subspace, and got a bit giggly. Then REALLY giggly. Then laughing like a loon (it's the endorphins, honest!). I slumped against the cross, lost my balance and the whole thing tipped over. Yup, clumsy! I constantly bump my head on cabinets, especially when I'm emptying the dishwasher and I have the cabinet doors open right above the dishwasher. I am convinced that the world is created for a right handed world and thus being a lefty, I'm just not going to be able to use everything as normally as a right handed person. Everything will always feel weird or clumsy or different in some way to me. I mean, even writing on a piece of paper, I basically have to hold the paper upside down. I have cashiers hand me the receipt to sign and they want to hold onto it while I sign. I have to yank it away from their hands so I can sign it. It's sooooo annoying. Haha...the tipping cross. Yup, I've done that too! ETA: I just remembered about two days ago, I was cleaning out and organizing my cabinets. Above the cabinets I have some large platters that I either was given as gifts or I bought while overseas. well, of course, one of them comes crashing down all around me. I just covered my head with my hands and closed my eyes and waited for the crashing to stop lol. Thankfully I wasn't hit by any of the glass and most of it fell into the sink below. I was pretty lucky that time. Master just laughs and shakes his head and asks me if I'm ok. When we're on the phone and I start swearing or whimpering he will ask me how I hurt myself this time. It's become pretty normal around here for him.
