Forgive me for this first post on here, as i have just signed up on the site.

i have tried to do searches but am unable to find my answer.

Would like to go on chat... but i get a message about a flash policy daemon??

i have the updated versions of Firefox and Java, and followed the instructions to open the two ports.

What am i missing?

Thank you!

Not that I can help with the technical aspects here, but it may help if you clarify which chat you're talking about. There's videochat, there's the chatrooms, and there's the person-to-person chat, and they each seem to have different requirements. For instance, I can access the chatrooms (not sure about the videochat, I haven't tried), but for some reason I can't do the person-to-person chat.

You may also get more mileage out of messaging support and asking for help.

The classic videochatrooms are totally on CollarMe while the chatrooms are not.The place to click on them are located on the CollarMe home page. With you being new here, you do not know this side is kinda separate from the profile side of CM. Here is the link to the classic videochatroom http://www.collarme.com/personals/chat5.htm and you can choose to show or not show your cam before entering.

oh i must be confused...! what else is new??

i was looking for basic texting chatrooms, as i do not have video. i could have sworn i saw a link to them, but every time i tried, it would say something about a daemon somethin-er-other!

so there are no text only chatrooms here? darn it all!! i was hoping for a place to hang out... sigh

Hello kay, and welcome to the website! :)

Strangely enough, although this website offers chat rooms AND message boards...they are reachable through two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ways.
You've obviously learned how to get to this point okay, but the chat rooms are actually set up through mIRC. Now I am NOT techno-minded, so I don't know what that stands for. However, it needs to be downloaded into your computer in order to get to the chat rooms, and it has to happen every time you go to the rooms...even when you switch rooms.

As for whether the chat rooms are basic texting, they are. And there are even private chat rooms available if you want to be able to chat easier, one-on-one, instead of having to wade through all the other conversations.

You don't have to use video chat. Hope you find your way to the chats. There's quite a selection of folks there! :)

ok... thanks. i will do a search on mIRC.. i seem to remember that from long time ago.

i used to be very active quite a while in a chatroom, but due to principals, i had to leave. Respect is a VERY important thing to me...
