That's OK, the mods seem to let the hookers advertize here at CM now despite the lack of policy change. Don't get me wrong, there are few pro Dommes that have given back to the community they eek their living from. But the 20 year old noob "Findommes" are another story entirely.

I agree. It doesn't have the AFF find a date (or client) features. But it has social Facebook style software.

Nope, I don't agree at all.
I have NEVER been bashed on fetlife.
I find fetlife very useful when it comes to many things.

Finding local activities
Networking with models, photographers, producers, and other website owners
Finding locals into specific fetishes such as foot worship.

There are also MANY groups for pros and financial dominants.
So I dunno.
Perhaps it's just YOU OP.

But...

Yes...there does seem to be a faction that spend their time bashing others to make up for their own insecurities. In fact, there are whole groups dedicated to such activities.

Such is life. Schoolyard bullying and whispering behind people's backs doesn't get old for some. And their inability to recognize themselves in their own criticism is humorous.

Eh...just find out what groups they're in or what groups they run, and then avoid.

Translation: On FL if you upload a stolen picture as your icon and claim that you're drop dead gorgeous, somebody is likely to report you for the stolen picture and have it removed from your profile. Also, there's no good way to market being a "Findomme" there.

I read your profile and it says that you are a masochist who seeks sexual play. That's great. You also state that you do not seek a D/s relationship. Again, you are being clear and that's great!

In D/s relationships, Trust must be built, or it's just kinkster play. Trust means becoming friends first. It involves patience, commitment and humility.

I think this may be why you think that Fet discourages dating. D/s means becoming friends first.

FetLife gives people many options in terms of labels so that those who wish to play, can say so. Those who wish to be D/s, can say so. There is even an option, "Unsure."

That would be my one suggestion for CM... to add more options for labels. It does help clarify.

I joined fetlife about 3 months back.

Dunno if I'd agree with your gripes but after years of using sites like CM, bondage and bdsm-online etc, I simply couldn't make head nor tail of what seems an overly convoluted and user-unfriendly format in comparison.

Put it down to me bein' old.... lol I haven't been back for at least 2 months - I voted with my feet.... lol

I think the difference is that Fet is supposed to be a social networking site like Facebook, rather than a dating site like this or bondage.com (haven't used the other one you mentioned). So it's set up to connect you with people you know in real life (and people they know) and to local events, rather than to help you find somebody to date or play with. It is pretty much a pain to use it for the latter purpose.

I know many people who meet for casual play and LTRs on fet.

I have, too - in fact, we've dated a couple women we met on Fet - but it's definitely harder to use for that purpose than sites like this, because it doesn't let you sort people by gender, sexual orientation, or kink/Ds role. On the other hand, if you're looking at local folks, they probably know somebody that you know or have been to a munch or event you're familiar with, which makes it less likely they're a scammer or fake.

Not true.
There are MANY groups dedicated to financial domination and those who participate in the kink.
Hell there are MANY groups for pros as awhole on fetlife.

I find this site to have more trolls, being on FL for a couple of years I have not received any requests for money,gift cards of people who demand I serve them online and send them a gift card

I'm here for the boards which I like better, but for meeting "real" people FL is better
