We didn't recognize anyone from their CM pictures, but once ran into someone we'd been talking to on AOL. Quite a few years ago, we were talking to a woman who sent us a picture of herself sitting on carpeted steps in a hiked-up up dress and no panties. Linda was positive she recognized the steps, but couldn't say from where. A few days later, she was at lunch and saw the woman sitting a few tables away. Turns out the steps were at a hotel right around the corner from her work, and the woman worked in her building. Linda wrote to assure her that she'd never do anything to out her, but the woman was so freaked out that we never heard from her again.

Sorta. I noticed her profile here first, but she's been inactive here. I chatted with her on Fet.

I ran across her at a jobhunters' networking meeting. I recognized her straightaway, plus her Fetname and vanilla names both started with Eris. I walked up to her and quietly introduced myself as DarkSteven from Fet.

Yes.

And I have had men come write to me from other sites saying they saw me here. I hate when they do that; I find it creepy. If you see me here, you are here as well, no?

One of the groups I am on in fetlife had a holiday dinner at a restaurant. My husband did not want to go since he worked all day. One of my best friends is also in the group and she wanted to go, so off we went. While we were there her face turned bright red and she looked like she was hiding. Oh the ornery part of me was grinning and asking who she was hiding from. Turns out a lady she worked with her husband was there and it freaked her out. I told her he was there without his wife, he had a whole lot more to loose by saying anything then she did. I got a good laugh though since she is the type that nothing ever phases her.

No. I have a profile on a dating site and two different men, I think it was, said they saw me here but no, not in r/l.

I saw a profile and remembered meeting the person at a vanilla event two years earlier. I wasn't that surprised.

No, but I once recognized a co-worker in a porn image set. She was a very nice lady, and we worked for a very strait-laced organization owned by some holier-than-thou types. I didn't say anything, and I hoped that nobody else there stumbled across the pictures.

I expect the presence of the pictures on the BBS (this being the pre-internet days) was due more to her recent ugly divorce than exhibitionism.

I have to say I doubt I would ever recognize anyone in person from here. I just don't look at profiles even when I was single. It was just not something I was interested in doing. The only time I really ever looked at them is when someone would email me with interest and I would take a quick look just to see what he looked like. But after that, it's highly unlikely I would remember the face. I just don't hold that much memory in my head.

There are people who have met me many, many times and they will approach me if they see me out somewhere and for the life of me I have no idea who they are until I finally get a clue from their conversation. Otherwise, I just pretend to remember who they are.

I even worked with people for many years and to this day I still have no idea what their names are.

I have to say I recently saw someone at the supermarket that I was SURE was someone here - but I didn't say or do anything about it. I just smiled to myself hoping it was true and I was seeing, in real life, in the flesh, right in front of me, a real movie star!

Yes, I've met a few people, and they did look like their profile pictures. It was a few years back. M

No, but I don't go to BDSM events. I think a few people have made the connection between me here and on a vanilla site which says I'm submissive but that's usually because I've suggested they look here if we've talked about BDSM.

I would hope that if someone from work found me they would not mention it even.

One person who I used to hang out with and have a brew or 6 with at the corner tavern. The place is closed but we're still friendly acquaintances.

I was recognized on FetLife by a couple I'd met on a different site. 'Course I use the same pic and same basic handle so it wasn't a stretch for them.

Have you ever recognized anyone on Collarme purely from their profile photos?

I joined and began searching within 25 miles for potential partners and the thought occurred to me that I didn't recognize anyone.
Of course, only about 10% of the profiles had face pictures, so that makes a difference - yet - I was curious (as I'm contemplating what to use for my profile picture) whether it's common or not to recognize anyone local here.

Of course, the old club rule rules, that you don't name names nor point out fame outside the venue ... still ... I'm curious if you've ever recognized a fellow kinkster here ... one that you had no idea of their predilections otherwise.

No...never...previously but....you.....

I think you're that guy I saw last weekend....you were driving a late model....Chrysler....GM maybe, if I recall....you were mid frame....5/10?

Sandy hair...maybe blonde/brown....late 40's...early 50's...(I'm guessing...I'm not actually that good at this shit).

Nondescript shirt....nice shoes...clean....jeans.

South of San Jose?

(It's a gut feel...but I'm going with it).
