ORIGINAL: MariaB Darkfeather, it doesn't feel anything like a static shock though because its continuous. I'm one of these people who seem to be full of static I touch a car door and I'm zapped, I touch a supermarket trolley and I'm zapped. Its a horrible thing and yet I will use the voilet wand on me until my skin is sore because I love the feeling it gives... only on the bulb mind. We do have estim but I prefer to use it on other people. Like others here, I spent too many years accidentally being zapped by electric fences. True, a violet wand gives out a continuous static charge, hence the difference. Depending on what tip you use, is how close the charge has to travel to the skin, hence the different sensations. Estim is completely different, because it travels along the nerve pathways. In this aspect, it is why estim can actually hurt more, as it directly stimulates the pain center.
