More like "naughty" horse. Let's hope he can't finagle his way into the feed bin and founder himself.

one of my stallions that i bred would let himself out, and everyone else. he also knew where to kci the bottom of the door to get the kick-over off. he could take any sort of clip off of the bolts too. in the end we put bolts further down the door to stop him doing it. if he'd let the boss stallion out there could have been huge trouble. also allowing horses to get access to feed is really irresponsible. horses can not be sick so they get collic. in the worse cases the stomach can rupture. you risk killing your horse. mistakes happen, but there didn't seem to be signs they were taking preventative measure with that horse.

certainly a very clever horse, but i'd guess a royal pain in the arse too from my experience.

Ahh... What a pain of a horse.
I was a stable boy once apon a time and let me tell
ya, that kind of crap is the last thing I would want
to deal with before breakfast.

But yes very clever horse.

And THAT is why I have electric fencing. Mo is way smarter than a horse should be.

I have some friends who have a German Shepard who can open the door. Only problem is he never closes it after himself. It always gives me a good laugh when they are over and say they had better get home before Major lets himself out and all the flies in.

yeah, that stuff works great until you get one that figures out that if you arch your neck, and grab the top of the posts you don't get zapped. you can then pull out those posts and let yourself out [8|]

This blows my mind because someone is so clearly watching it happen while they film!! Just kind of blows my mind that clips or even chains weren't being used on stalls or gates when the horse so clearly had this inclination.

That is why the only posts on our fence are either heavy wooden that it takes a tractor and chain to remove.......or a willing human with a shovel, and similarly with the metal t posts. Anything else he can possible grab is hot.
