Wrong analogy. If we go with your logic....

Banning all cars would solve all car related deaths.

Banning all guns would solve all gun related deaths.

However, not everyone will give up their cars... nor will everyone give up their guns.

A person without a car can't drink and drive and isn't very likely to kill anyone else while riding a bicycle or walking.
A person without a gun has an unlimited number of options to commit murder.
And a dump truck still has the potential to be a more potent weapon that any gun.
Imagine one of those recent famous killers had the imagination to park any large truck in front of a school in the morning and wait for the crowd of kids to get off their buses.
I maintain that banning automobiles would save many more lives than banning guns. (not that I support banning automobiles) Banning guns will not have a meaningful impact on lowering the murder rate. People will kill each other in other ways.
I also maintain that gun control isn't about saving lives but only about control.

That same person who was drinking, but now walking, can get killed simply by stumbling into the line of oncoming traffic.

You can drown in an inch of water too. But many of the killed that has people the most upset now are done for show.... the.. "I will show them and they will remember me!" .. kind of deals. If they dont have the guns, its sorta hard to give that "show".

Status: offline 		To be honest, targeting children is not good for sending a message. Even for a mentally unbalanced individual. The child killer is directing his rage at those that actually represent no threat to him.

At least that is what I remember them saying from police academy lecture.

For someone who wants to be remembered.. McVeigh... he will forever be remembered for killing all those babies. Columbine, how many "friends" did they kill?

Making these people the legends they have become make children an intentional target... not to mention... how much can a child fight back as compared to an adult?

Feinstein helped push through the 1994 assault weapons ban that expired in 2004. She argued Sunday that the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, last month was the tipping point in getting the ban reinstated.

"For me Sandy Hook was an epiphany," she told CNN's chief political correspondent Candy Crowley. "(The gunman) got a very powerful weapon. He went out with that weapon, and he killed 5- and 6- and 7-year-olds, I understand, with three to 11 bullets in each of their bodies, with a weapon that had the velocity of which could really rip these bodies apart. That should not be able to happen."

He used handguns. That's all they found in the school. That we have this moron in Washington helping to craft laws is a far bigger tragedy.

Medical examiner: all Sandy Hook victims died of multiple gunshot wounds

The veteran medical examiner told reporters that the victims had all been identified and their bodies released. In what appeared to be an uncomfortable moment for Carver, he said all of the victims he had examined had all been shot by a Bushmaster .223 caliber assault rifle, one of at least two weapons Adam Lanza, the 20-year-old suspected shooter, used to commit one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.

The article claiming that the rifle never made it into the school has been retracted and replaced with an apology citing bad information.

Are you quoting that coroner? Because if you show me a coroner who claims the ability to divine the brand of gun that caused a wound I'll show you a liar. Hell, show me a coroner who claims to be able to divine the caliber of bullet used in so many wounds and be confident about it and I'll show you the best coroner the world's ever seen. Especially since the .223 round tumbles inside a person, the wounds aren't neat little straws you can stick a gauge through. Not to mention swelling of the tissue.

I'm sure it took them minutes with a satellite feed and this guy.


Though in seriousness for one man to examine 3-4 wounds each on 20 children himself and be able to definitively say what every wound was by caliber would probably take a week.
To name it to a specific gun, they'd have to find the bullets, if any survived in good enough condition. And use a microscope to compare them to bullets they fired through the gun to see if the barrel left the same scoring marks.

I'm not saying he didn't use whatever gun it was, he probably did. But I'd question that information for being sensationalist and possibly fraudulent depending on the date it was released.

Status: offline 		Bodies found on the 14th. Brutal case, lots of state help. He gave his findings on the 15th. I have no problem for this case, in believing they had no trouble getting lots of help through the night.
