Yup, more than once. One of the people I know involved with them I think is still trying to recover from his debt with it all from being sued and keeping from landing in jail.

I remember when PD was trying to sell the insex company name, movies, and equipment (a few years ago).

What did they actually get sued for doing wrong?

The first part is actually from a documentary called "Graphic Sexual Horror" which is a documentary about Insex.com

Thanks for that information - the search terms allowed me to learn more about it.

quote:

When artist Brent “PD” Scott was teaching in college in the ’80s, he specialized in paintings of women in bondage that he passed off as social commentary, though he admits now that they were really an expression of a fetish he’d had since childhood, when his sister and her friends tormented him. In the ’90s, Scott moved on to films and photographs with live models, then started putting his work on the Internet on the website insex.com. Within the first two weeks, he’d made as much as he would’ve made in a semester of teaching, and before long, he had a steady supply of women who’d seen the site and wanted to volunteer to be tied up and tortured—some for the money, and some because they saw a chance to explore a forbidden side of their sexuality in a safe environment. But as insex.com rose in popularity, the FBI launched an investigation into just how much of what Scott was posting was actually staged.

Barbara Bell and Anna Lorentzon’s Graphic Sexual Horror begins with the tease of Scott’s brushes with the law, but it isn’t really a narrative documentary. It’s more a record of Scott’s work, supplemented by testimonials from fans, explanations by the models, and anecdotes about the times when insex.com edged up to the line of consent, and perhaps crossed it. The anecdotes and interviews are fascinating and disturbing in equal measure. Women talk openly and emotionally about what they got out of the experience, as do the fans, who praise Scott for concocting scenarios so extreme that there was an element of realism even though the models were willing participants. (“Which I later found out they were,” one fan says, with a creepy tone of disappointment.) And people who worked for Scott describe how a warped sense of purpose began to take hold within the business, wherein all concerned felt that they had to keep going further and further, whether they really wanted to or not.

But the heart of the movie is the footage from insex.com’s live feeds and recorded videos, wherein women were stripped, shackled, pierced, punched, electrified, hung, caged, submerged in water, and otherwise put in situations that left them bruised and weeping even though they were volunteers. There’s no honest way to make a documentary like Graphic Sexual Horror without showing what insex.com was up to, unvarnished. Still, there’s so much of that material in the movie—and so little external context—that at a certain point, Graphic Sexual Horror becomes less about extreme fetish porn, and more an example of it. That may be what Bell and Lorentzon were aiming for, to push the audience beyond their own boundaries, the way Scott and the staff at insex.com did. But there’s no denying, this movie is punishing.

I swear one of the guys on kink.com's lavish upstairs banquet room looks like a younger version of PD himself!

Maybe it's his son?

Yeah, the original Insex hasn't been around for a few years now and the ex Dom taped absolutely everything from that site.

I'll admit it has been several months since I bought my last DVD,but there is a seller on ebay that is/was auctioning off old Insex DVD's.The seller says they have the rights to sell them...but who really knows. The quality of the DVD's are poor but the intensity of the scenes hasn't been beaten[pun intended] by any other company in my opinion.

Insex was a financial windfall for the owner. The owner stated that once he went online as a paid site he made more money in two weeks than he made in six months as a college professor.

Maybe 'we' should start a porn site business!

OT, but it always turned me off when the gray-haired tall 50's-ish soft-spoken guy in black cargo pants and a black t-shirt in most of those movies (is that the guy you call PD?) had such a small cock.

I try to make believe it's me replacing him in those scenes - but that small cock just turns my mind off.

Thanks to everyone, this has been an extremely enlightening thread!

The good news is that safewords 'are' used (they're just edited out), and the additional information about the "graphic Sexual Horrors" was edifying.

One tidbit I learned from reading the reviews is that the name "Graphic Sexual Horrors" is apparently what InSex used at the beginning of every film according to this review.
http://sinsofcinema.com/Reviews/Graphic-Sexual-Horror-Review.php

quote:

"Warning! Graphic Sexual Horror"- before entering INSEX, you had to pass this warning screen. Inside, PD had created a beautiful horror show. Women with needles stabbed through their nipples, held underwater in dunk tanks, rigged to orgasm machines, crying, bleeding, and loving it. It all began when Brent PD Scott (who describes his early experiences with bondage in the film) created his own Sado-Masochistic website, hoping to bring the subject into American culture. A former teacher at Carnegie Mellon, Scott left with this message- "if you won't allow me to teach your children, I will corrupt them".

I was surprised that the original clip posted was dead wrong (on purpose) about the purpose of the documentary. Apparently it's simply a documentary on InSex, and not a commentary on the abuse in the porn industry. I apologize for being swayed.

Here's the trailer, for example, which clearly promotes the InSex theme.
http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/graphic-sexual-horror/trailer

Graphic Sexual Horror is not a movie about bondage, but a document on INSEX. It's nothing like an exploitation film, so don't go into this expecting a Jess Franco flick.

I must be sicker than I had previously thought - because some of those insex torture scenes were hotter than hot!

I don't want to post the URL but if you PM me, I can send you a link to what appears to be the entire hour and twenty minute documentary.

They might actually. When Insex closed, they sold everything, including all videos. I believe kink.com however does run an Insex database site of old movies

The Justice Department was leading an investigation against them for obscenity laws being broken. That's why insex closed their doors. He didn't want to have to pay to fight a lawsuit.

There were some women who were hurt in scenes as well who were going to sue for their injuries. I have no idea if they actually went through or settled out of court.

How is the new company any different?

Is it just tamer?

There is no new site. InSex is gone. A Danish company bought the tapes and sells them at insexarchives.com and the two owners split up, one went to kink.com and the other one I think is now at hogtied.com maybe? Don't really know anymore.

Anyway, both sites I'm sure are much more professional and careful then their previous incarnation, using things like contracts, editing, permissions, etc....and much tamer.

That!

We watched the documentary and found it fascinating, having never seen the insex site before.

Just watched the vid you posted. For Master and I, most of that stuff is extremely tame. Most of it is just bondage.

ETA: Ok, I just watched the vid the op posted originally. I didn't see anything bad about her crying or screaming or anything like that. It sounds and looks just like when Master takes me anally. It hurts until you get used to it. It's really not that bad. lol Plus I've seen that woman in other bondage movies. It may be the first time she was taken anally but definitely not the first time she's been in bondage or been caned or flogged or anything else.

I am a fetish model.
I own fetish websites and work for other producers who make fetish videos.
I do NOT speak for the fetish industry / porn industry as a whole.
I am only going to speak about myself and those that I work with.
I am only speaking about the companies I have direct dealing with, either by myself or with helping others get gigs there.

Our videos are REAL sessons.
Although we plan them out and say what needs to happen.
We like them to be organic other wise.
They are NOT scripted.
We do use safe words and nonverbal cues like tapping out.
I can name more than a dozen such sites.

You will see us use them in our videos.
We pride ourselves it.

Again, I am only speaking about the videos I make and work in and for the producers I work with directly or indirectly.

I can say also that there are times where producers or models do what I call a switch and bait.
Where they tell models they are doing one thing and do another.
It happens from time to time but models do speak to one another.
So the word eventually gets around.
Sadly sometimes not fast enough.

Is there like a porn actors guild or something where actreses can verify the people they are working with? If not is that not something someone should put together. I tried to watch it, but just before he stuck it in, the thought that this might actually be a real rape freaked me out and I turned it off. Sorry for being such a wuss, but the thought that I might be watching a real violation of a frightenned human being kind of creeped me out.

Not for fetish stuff.
I don't do harcore porn so I can't answer that for that part of the industry.
There is a fetish producer who stars in his vids on CollarMe.
I had heard a lot of negative stuff about him from former models.
How he would not pay them and if they were supposed to trade content he would NEVER give up the content.
So when he approached me I knew.

Models to network and talk.

I personally check to see who they have worked with.
I've never asked for references I simply go to their websites and check them out.
I also check on MM, Fet and sexyjobs to see what they post and if they have a known bad rep.

I do work for a lot of smaller companies or what people call GWC (guys with cameras) who do amateur fetish sites but I have NEVER had an issue.

Some people take escorts to shoots, but my thing is I wouldn't take an escort to a regular 9-5 and this is a job so I am not taking on with me to do it either.

Professional porn businesses are supposed to have their actors submit to mandatory HIV and STD testings on a regular basis. But of course, depending on the business, this doesn't always happen, or the actors fake their tests so they can continue working and getting paid. Other than that, no there's no guild that does background checks or anything that I'm aware of.

I would say if I was an actor I would be doing background checks on my own and doing some research on those I'm acting with just to put my own mind at ease on who I'm working with but I do this with every person I end up working with. I wanna know who my peers are and what I can expect to go through with them.

For contrast, here's Rocco doing a for-real reluctant anal, this chick never does get comfortable with it, lol.
