ORIGINAL: maledaddy @RemoteUser This is a fetish-related forum where people discuss their lifestyle and fetishes. So it was my idea to start a conversation about a topic that I pre-tt-y much like, To get in touch with the people here and what they think about it. :) Maybe likeminds will arise =) However, if you look around a bit, you will find what we do not discuss is "wank fodder," as in discussing fantasies to get the OP off. quote:
@ littlewonder That is great for you ! I love my reality the way it is, too. I just see no contradiction between my "real-life" and the possibility to induce dreamlike fantasies at will. Or to use the many other possibilities I'd like to experience thanks to reconditioning my / her mind with hypnosis. Herein perhaps lies the problem. "Real life" and "dreamlike fantasies" are extremely different things. quote:
@lafayettelady Well, as far as I know, everyone is hypnotizable - people having schizophrenia or any other heavy mental disease taken out of consideration. But really, what is hypnosis for you and the other forum users ? Actually, then what you know is incorrect. Not everyone can be hypnotized. quote:
Let me give you a definition that I have worked out over the last 7 years : On the other thread, you stated you learned this "many years ago" which turned out to be THREE. Now apparently it is seven. Ummm....did you learn math under hypnosis? Merriam Webster defines hypnosis as this: 1 : a trancelike state that resembles sleep but is induced by a person whose suggestions are readily accepted by the subject 2 : any of various conditions that resemble sleep So apparently, your definition would be yours and yours alone. quote:
Hypnosis is the capability of altering ones states of mind into another ones by words and other perceptive means, at will. quote:
This is it. Nothing less. Did you ever see an advertising in tv and then thought something like : " I want to have that !" Congratulations, you have been sucessfully hypnotized ! Sublimal marketing and hypnosis is not the same thing. Further, perhaps it is something that will simply and truly make your life easier. For instance, your pet keeps knocking their water dish over, and you see something on television that claims to be "tip proof." You weren't hypnotized, you simply saw something that meets your needs. I used this example because I have cats who would knock their water dish over constantly. I actually didn't see a commercial, but found a stand in the store that would prevent it, but it is still a good example. quote:
Have you ever been in a bad mood and you then took action, that soothed your mind, like listening to your favourite music ? Congratulations, you have hypnotized yourself at will. I'm seriously beginning to question this course you took on hypnosis. Being able to "self soothe" is not the same as self hypnosis. Yes, there are people who can self hypnotize, but your example is not it. quote:
Now is a great chance for you to reconsider your doubts about hypnotizability, or not ;) I mean, taking your opinion into consideration about me and hypnosis you represented in the last thread - apparently without knowing me or hypnosis - it rather seems to me you dont WANT to see your self as hypnotizable. That is okay. And since you don't want to share your fantasies or like hypnosis at all, this thread might not be the right one for you. Do I doubt that people can be hypnotized? Not at all. I've seen it done. It was quite interesting. I daresay the hypnotist had a great deal more experience than you, so no reason to doubt his expertise. It isn't that I don't "want" to see myself as hypnotizable. Perhaps if you knew a bit more about psychology, you would have the answer to that question. As it stands, it isn't a "want," it is a fact. "Erotic hypnosis" doesn't have a wonderful reputation, and someone who took a short course in it isn't going to improve that situation. As for whether or not this thread is for me...news flash kiddo, as an internet forum, I, and everyone else is free to post their thoughts and opinions on any thread we choose, so while you obviously don't like that no one jumped in telling you all their hypnosis fantasies, it isn't for you to decide what thread is for who. quote:
@osidegirl Oh really, well I think that those people who consider hypnosis as harmful have greatly damaged the image of hypnosis and thus have nourished many misconceptions and flawed premises on that topic. It will take many years of practice and adverdisement by the most skilled hypnotists, to undo that false distrust. I presume you did not learn real hypnosis, but rather touched the topic theoretically within study of psychology or the alike ? Don't get me wrong here, yes you can inflict harm with hypnosis. You can kill someone with a teddy bear. But what use does it have to think of a teddy bear as a harmful tool. Really why should I not be allowed to playfully use hypnosis ? If you split up the word game and the meaning "Irresponisble" you have attached to it, you may know what I mean. This is just so lacking in any credible knowlege, there isn't much to say. quote:
Well as far as I can see hypnosis is not so very popular amongst everyone here, which explains the lack of knowledge about it. My supposition was it may be rather known. A mistake I make at times. Actually, it is simply that we disagree with YOUR knowledge and views on hypnosis. It isn't a lack of knowledge.
