Ditto this.

I feed my dogs a high quality raw food diet, although I lightly brown the food because they don't like it otherwise. It's helped with allergies, itchy skin, coat.

I'd never feed processed dog food as the basis of a dog's diet ever again. I've also gone the home-cooked route, using "human" food, which is also very good but much more time-consuming. So the raw foods are the best of both worlds.

I feed Sojos (no corn or wheat product), mixed with veggies (that are okay for dogs...some are not) and meat I've prepared myself. Just boiled and deboned a turkey today. That is the doggie preferred meat in this house. And, I can boil one, debone it, and freeze it in smaller containers to defrost as needed. Keeping the possibility of spoilage to about zip.

I've also added other meats. If I get quality pork, I will feed it raw. I will NOT ever again use raw, store bought ground beef. Had a bad experience with that while traveling a few years ago.

My dogs also get big solid bones to chew on regularly.

They always get glowing health reports and maintain healthy weights.

LaTigresse, for what it's worth, the vet dentist who did some work on my dogs told me that feeding big bones to dogs (raw or cooked) damages their teeth, fractures and cracks them. She says 90% of her business comes from dogs whose owners feed them bones.
I used to feed mine big raw bones. Then they had to have several teeth removed because they were broken and cracked. If calcium is the reason you feed them bones, you can get that powdered and add it to their food.

I'm gonna guess the broken teeth is just like in humans....some have strong teeth and can eat everything. Some have soft teeth and can't. For example, I know I have soft teeth and they chip easily because I'm lactose intolerant. While my daughter has strong teeth and can eat anything.

Not all dogs are the same just as not all people are the same.

My six dogs gets mix of trimmed ground boar meat, that is mixed with veggies, no grain, and cooked into loafs by the game processor. I mix that with a quality dry dog food and have not had a sick dog since I started this.
