Give our greetings to Davo and is lovely little wife when you get to Austin.  Libby and I remember them with great fondness.

ROFL EVERYONE knows Davo!!!!!!  When I was there last summer we went to a party and we spent a half hour going over the people we mutually knew.

<We had considered that, and realized we're just not THAT trusting.>

I do understand.  I guess I stressed, so much, over my move from NY to Fl back in January and trying to find the most economical and efficient method of traveling and moving my belongings, I just hate seeing others go through it.  At one point, I was going to travel with someone using Craig's List, but kind of got a bit leary as I got closer to the date ended up choosing Amtrak.  I found that it was going to be a great value deal to carry along extra luggage with me on the train, but when my friend came to drive me to the station, he took one look at all those suit cased and being the big bad sweetest dom friend I've ever come to know over the past few years, he insisted upon paying the cost of overnight shipping of all those, huge, bags to me instead of us, he, my daughter another friend and myself of course, having to struggle at the station checking in and getting around.  What a relief that was.  Ah, if only he were sub instead of dom.  LOL, he's such a gentleman.

btw, thanks for sharing your reasons for the move, all great reasons.  I'm sure most of us wish we had someone worth making such a huge life choices for.

Hope you can will let us know the outcome of the travel itinerary.

Rosa

PS, I end up edited many of my post due to vision problems.  So sometimes I can't see errors till after posting and even then, I still don't catch them. Spellings isn't my best asset. People see pic My best asset shows up there.

I've moved twice in the past 5 yrs and this is what I did, one person drove one vehicle and one drove the other.  We bought walkie talkies with a 6 mile range and we were able to talk the whole way.  Let each other know about conditions, when one of us needed to stop, etc.  It works great.

Both drive your own cars, fit a cb radio in each one and talk dirty to each other all the way there.

Great idea, jali. Work out the exhibitionist kink too.

But I kind of like the ship idea mentioned in the subject line. Sell the cars, buy a nice fractional rig 28 footer and take the intercoastal down, sneaking outside every chance you get. I'm sure you'd have avast amount of fun.

Yo. Ho.

(plus think of all the ropes! (but you'd better call them lines)

Good luck in your new location, LA. I have a hunch you'll be missed around the old one.
