ORIGINAL: Real0ne how about we ban "policy" and the police state and go back to law? Either way you slice it, the policy will have to change. It even goes beyond law, since it would mean that America's entire philosophical position which we've embraced so enthusiastically since World War II will have to be altered. There's nothing in the law that states that America's role in this world is to safeguard freedom and democracy. There's nothing in the Constitution about it. We often call ourselves the "arsenal of democracy" and that our purpose in war is "to make the world safe for democracy," but these are just philosophical positions, not actual laws. Of course, there's nothing illegal or unconstitutional about these philosophical positions either. On the other hand, we do have alliances and treaties which carry the weight of law in our society, since our governments have made agreements which have been duly ratified by the Senate. So, the law will have to be changed, too. Just "going back to law" will not be enough. This is exactly what I'm talking about. quote:
Its not america its the US. Interesting distinction. quote:
Wall street created world war 1 and hitler and world war 2 and sadam and israel and iran and brought them down when they no longer serve the behemouths present day purpose. Wall Street did not create World War I. World War I (along with Hitler and World War II) were totally created in Europe, not in the United States, although I'd be interested if you have any evidence which would prove otherwise. quote:
people in america have a strong voice in government [mod edit to remove picture] The voice of the public is measured on every Election Day. If the people didn't agree with what the government was doing, they would vote them out and elect someone else. Since they vote for either Republicans or Democrats every time (and ostensibly refuse to vote for third party or independent candidates), then that's an indication that the public approves of what the government does. The people actually do have a strong voice in government, but if they choose to waste that voice on sound bites and getting suckered by slick, fast-talking campaigners, then that's the fault of the people, isn't it? quote:
that is why we never go to war when protested by americans and why we have today a war that cannot ever end. Well, maybe that's part of the problem I'm addressing. Sure, a lot people might go out and protest against "war" and advocate "peace" solely for its own sake, but they never offer much beyond that. It seems more like a prayer or a slogan, but not any kind of serious geopolitical proposal. Even the conspiracy buffs go on and on with endless technical details about whatever it is they're going on about, but that's where it begins and ends with them. They don't really want to DO anything about it. Their tone and entire manner of presentation is so defeatist that they leave us with "and there's nothing we can do about it." The CIA, the Mafia, the cartels, big oil, big banking, Wall Street, Hollywood, Trilateralists, Bilderbergers, Masons, etc. - they're all just sooooo powerful. What can we poor peasants do against these behemoths? Might as well just give up, huh? None of these conspiracy theorists or America bashers seem willing to address the actual policies and philosophy behind our foreign policy, how it developed and how we got to this point we're at today. They're just scandal-mongers, operating on rumor, innuendo, and conspiracy theories. They don't really care about geopolitical issues or philosophy, all they want to do is say "AHA! We got something!" Well there is the question of how it is that we got here ? A pres. is actually free to kill American citizens whom we 'feel' is just too dangerous to let walk the streets and even if the streets are in another country, even if we kill others in our desire to kill a particular one and even if those others are minors and likely innocents and even...children ? Get over it dude as it is too late...America is gone. This is not our father's country, it is not the founding father's country anymore. There is no peaceably assembling for a redress of our grievances, you are kept away from power or rounded up and detained mind you...not actually thrown in jail even though they often look just like one. There is no more due process and habeas corpus, there is guilt before innocence, there is the freedom to be too big to fail. Legalized swindling on wall street. [sic] Americans are fish, living in water and don't know it and will make...great Nazis. Lemmings going to political slaughter.
